Updates for Week of April 24, 2023

Administrative Professionals Day is this week WEDNESDAY, April 26, 2023.  We would like to thank our AMAZING office and support staff during this time for all they do on the front lines of the office and behind the scenes to support school operations.

Thank you Dede, Fili, Pam, Sally, Violetta, Erin and our Sensational SASA-Cindy!

Also to note…

Our PTA is planning for Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week from May 8 to May 12!

In order for families to know what you each appreciate, please fill out this short 10-question survey to share some of your favorite things. :)

Good Luck to our 5th Grade Track team and MAHALO to Deb and the volunteers (Nicole, Marie H, Franny, Laura, Gina, Sheila and Jen M.) assisting our students on Monday!

We also want to thank the PTA and the volunteers who came out on Saturday for our Campus Beautification event!

Ho‘okele RUNS (literally and figuratively) on individuals who go above and beyond to help take care of our students, our school and each other!  We appreciate you!

Aloha Ho'okele Family,

We had a wonderful night last night (Friday) and a huge turn out for our school's Family Engineering Night. The cafeteria was filled with families laughing, talking, building, exploring, and all around having fun together. The families were excited and grateful to have this event come back to our school campus and overall feedback has been a positive one. This event could not have taken place without the help and support of our wonderful staff members, family volunteers, and KHS students. It really was a team effort to put this all together. So again we say Mahalo Nui Loa!

From Ashley C and Joanne

Thank you Ashley C and Joanne for coordinating this event!

We appreciate everyone coming out to bring this event to life-

the first one since Spring 2019!

Amazing job everyone!

Attached is the Waiver Day Agenda for Monday, April 24th. If your grade level/department hasn't done so already, please link your agendas and indicate the location you'll be meeting in case any questions arise.

Grades 3-5 Teachers, EAs, & Support Team ONLY

For teachers, EAs, and Support Team helping with the upcoming Smarter Balanced Assessment, there will be a short Test Security Meeting in the Library from 8:00-9:00 AM. Please be sure to bring your laptops. We'll provide your updated Testing Envelopes at this time.

If there are any questions, please let us know. Have a wonderful weekend! Thank you!

Aloha Ho‘okele Ohana,

The Fifth graders are happy to announce an Inspirational Bracelet Gram fundraiser to help them fund their End-of-Year Celebration. This is a perfect time to get those encouraging vibes to our students and faculty with the upcoming Standards-Based Assessments starting in early May.

Inspirational Bracelet Grams will cost $2.00 each (cash only) and can be purchased from Tuesday, 4/25 through Friday, 4/28 from 7:15-7:40 am. It will be a direct sale, meaning the bracelets and grams will be given to the purchaser immediately, so everyone can wear their bracelets and be encouraged during the week before our final round of assessments. You will receive a free bracelet if you spend $10 in one transaction! Extra grams will be available at the booth.

We have a limited number of bracelets available, so please come and visit our booth early in the week and wear your bracelets proudly!

Mahalo,

The Fifth Grade Students and Teachers
