This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do! In addition to celebrating our administrative professionals, this week we also gratefully acknowledge the vital contributions of our campus volunteers. Our PCNC, Kilohana Motas, and our active PTA work tirelessly to create meaningful volunteer opportunities that benefit our entire school. We also extend our sincere thanks to Mrs. Ramey's dedicated library volunteers and the many parents who make our field trips possible and help with safety week and other school wide events. Think about the volunteers who make a difference in your specific area – whether in your classroom, during events, or elsewhere on campus. Let them know their support is truly valued this week! Finally, this week we also want to share heartfelt appreciation to our incredible A+ Program for their continued support of our students. After a full day of learning, our dedicated YMCA A+ staff welcome our students for an additional three hours of care and engagement! |
As most of you know, all HIDOE teachers must meet the Sheltered Instruction Qualification (SIQ) requirement. We are currently in the second year of the 3-year timeline. So far, 34 teachers at Ho'okele have completed this requirement. There are 8 options available. Please click here for more information on SIQ. HIDOE is offering free self-paced WIDA e-workshops that can go toward option 3 or option 8. These e-workshops must be completed by August 31, 2025. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the SIQ requirement. If you have questions about your SIQ status, please contact the Office of Talent Management, Educator Quality Section at 808-441-8499 or hqt@k12.hi.us. |

Thank you to Marie and Ashley for coordinating our STEM Family Engineering Night on Thursday! What a great event with many fun activities and tables. It was great to see so many former students come back with their younger siblings to participate and engage in this event! Do YOU have an APPRECIATION, APOLOGY, AHA or Additional stuff that you would like shared in this blog? Please contact VP Melinda Pamatigan should you wish to contribute, clarify or correct any information that is shared.
