From Principal Rankie’s Email 9/6/2024 (See email for attachments) NBA Math Hoops This supplemental math resource was shared with me. After a brief review it looks like a great club or classroom supplement.  "NBA Math Hoops leverages the game of basketball and the NBA/WNBA brands to build fundamental math and social-emotional skills through a physical and digital basketball-themed board game, a curriculum, and a community program experience. Designed for students in grades 4-8, this free program develops students’ algebra readiness prior to entering high school, while strengthening important skills including self-regulation and executive function. The NBA Math Hoops program is implemented in in-school, out-of-school, and home learning environments." Hawaii State Bar Association/Hawaii Depart of Education 2025 "Voices of Democracy" Calendar Contest: 2025 Voices of Democracy Calendar Contest (Note: Entries are due by 4:30 pm on November 8, 2024.) In 2025, an inauguration year, the theme “Voices of Democracy” recognizes that people, through their vote and individual engagement in communities, govern democracies. It provides opportunities to talk about key individuals who have made a difference in our democracy. A total of twelve (12) statewide winners will be selected by a team of judges from HSBA, the HSBA Civic Education Committee, and the Department. Winning entries will be incorporated into a 2025 color-printed calendar that will be distributed to all schools and may be displayed in prominent buildings such as the Hawaii State Capitol. Winners will also receive a $25.00 gift card.

Appreciations Thank you to the Ho‘okele Dance team and Coaches, Mrs. Brown and Ms. Brown for representing our school at Kapolei Lofts’ Night Market!  We appreciate everyone who was able to support the team at the performance as well!

Picture Day is this Wednesday!  As a reminder, all faculty and staff can take pictures for FREE which will also be used for yearbook and your staff ID.  If you do not work on Wednesdays, please feel free to come in for this opportunity to be a part of the faculty for our 10th anniversary yearbook!  Faculty and staff pictures are scheduled for 7:30-8:00 am. Here is the schedule and location information.
