Safety Week is here! Please review the procedures in the slideshow and Emergency Action Plan. A printed copy has been placed in teachers boxes for you to insert into the “Safety Week” tabbed section of your handbooks. We will watch the weather carefully to determine if Wednesday’s drills may need to be postponed, however, Thursday and Friday will be implemented regardless of the weather. To our 10th Anniversary Planning Committee: Thank you for volunteering for our 10th Anniversary Planning Committee! Our first meeting is Tuesday, September 3 at 2:30pm in the library. The first meeting will be a brainstorming of the number of events, types of events, potential dates, and event ideas. Linked is the 10th Anniversary Planning Committee folder. |
Appreciations Thank you to the PTA for coordinating our first General Membership Meeting and thanks to all those who attended on Friday evening! It was a great turnout and overview of the exciting events coming up to support the school. Thank you to our resource teachers for a successful and smooth 1st week! Resources start this week for grades 1, 5 and 2. We appreciate the preparation by teachers and EAs to talk to students about how to be respectful and follow rules during the resource day classes. Thank you to Cheryl Iwasaki for emailing some pictures and ideas for using chairs to secure your rooms for a lockdown! We appreciate the sharing of ideas to keep everyone safe. |
The weekly broadcast is emailed by Mrs. Laura Brown each week! This week’s Hawaiian value is Pilina with messages from VP Pamatigan and Mrs. Teixeria’s class! Check your email for the link! |

Aha Pilina means a close relationship or a strong connection. It's like having a special friendship with someone where you care about each other, trust each other, and spend time together. Pilina is about being good friends and feeling connected with people you care about. Do you as a staff member have Pilina with others on campus? How can we build strong connections among staff and students? Here are some examples to model and practice for our students: Buddy System: Pair students together so they can help and support one another, building strong connections between different age groups. Compliment Chain: Encourage students to give each other genuine compliments, fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment. Helping Hands: Promote a culture where students regularly offer help to classmates in need, whether it’s with tasks or providing comfort. Recess Inclusion: Encourage students to include others in their games and activities during recess, ensuring no one is left out. Kindness Notes: Set up a kindness board where students can leave notes of appreciation or encouragement for their peers, creating a sense of belonging and care.
It is an important date as The United States of America honors the American labor movement and pays tribute to the social and economic contribution of the laborers toward society and recognizes their individual rights. Labor Day falls at the end of the long weekend known as Labor Day weekend and also highlights the importance of fair employment practices and the ongoing struggle for labor equality. Labor Day weekend is a time for American workers to enjoy an extended break, engaging in various celebrations and activities and the start of the football season. Additionally, it signifies the end of summer and the transition to cooler weather. Happy Labor Day! |
Do YOU have an APPRECIATION, APOLOGY, AHA or Additional stuff that you would like shared in this blog?
