This Wednesday, our faculty meeting will focus on the use of AI in schoolsThis session will have you dive into the future of education with generative AI! We will explore how educators, administrators, and staff can leverage AI tools to personalize learning, create engaging content, and streamline workflows. We'll unpack "prompt engineering" to empower you to harness AI's potential, while ensuring its use aligns with ethical best practices in the Department of Education.  Teachers and EAs, bring your laptops for this exciting PD!

We want to express our sincere gratitude to our school's tech coordinator

Jill's tireless work and expertise are essential to keeping our

school connected and running smoothly.

From troubleshooting technical issues to providing support for our students and staff, your contributions are invaluable.

National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from

September 15th to October 15th!

Please take time to honor and celebrate the contributions of Hispanic and Latino families at Ho‘okele. It's an opportunity to recognize the rich cultural heritage, diverse experiences, and significant achievements of this vibrant community.

Schools can promote Hispanic Heritage Month by:

Organizing cultural activities: Consider cultural performances, art exhibits, and food recipes to showcase Hispanic and Latino culture.

Inviting guest speakers: Invite Hispanic and Latino professionals to share their experiences and inspire students.

Integrating Hispanic and Latino history and culture into the curriculum: Incorporate Hispanic and Latino history, literature, and art into lessons across different subjects.

Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment: Ensure that all students feel valued and respected, regardless of their cultural background.

(Thanks Gemini for the assist!)

Navigating Challenging Student Behavior: Approaches to Prevention, Instruction, and Response

This webinar will share an evidence based process for addressing low level behavior. Educators are feeling outmatched and overwhelmed by the amount of behavior issues they are currently facing. What is within our locus of control to more effectively manage these behaviors? We will provide a low burden process that works to help you feel more equipped to serve students each day.

Do you have Military children in your classroom?  Looking for more support?

Ms. Kat, our MFLC counselor,  sees grades 2, 3, and 5 on Tuesdays and grades Kindergarten, 1, and 4 on Thursdays. Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays are small groups/private sessions.

Students can set up the small group/private sessions by talking to Ms. Kat, or having teachers or parents contact her.

For the Tuesday/Thursday grade level lunch bunch, students meet by the stage. It is important for them to be there ASAP given the shortened lunch time.

As for Kindergarten, many of them take the entire lunch period to eat their meals so Ms. Kat goes to their tables.

Ms. Kat can be reached via email at katherina_jones@hookele.k12.hi.us.

Do YOU have an APPRECIATION, APOLOGY, AHA or Additional stuff that you would like shared in this blog?  Please contact VP Melinda Pamatigan should you wish to contribute, clarify or correct any information that is shared.  Posts are done on Sunday mornings, so let me know of information you would like to include by Saturday evening.  Corrections will be made to a posted blog as soon as I receive your notification.  THANK YOU!
