Appreciations

Thank you for the teachers who met last week to problem solve and offer solutions to adjust our bell schedule routines.  The adjustments seem to be having a positive impact on smoother operations.  We will continue to monitor and adjust as needed.

We appreciate you all diving into your WASC group review and writing last week.  It felt like a great start and we really appreciate your efforts.

I’d like to share an appreciation to the 1st grade students for thanking me and telling me that I did a good job after presenting Chapter 19.  I really appreciate the compliments. 🙂  They made me feel happy, being the tough critics that they can be…Now, hopefully they also learned something about behavior expectations!!

Thank you to the 62 of you who have completely finished your OSYP tasks.  We know more of you have completed it, however, if you submitted some things online and some things via hard copy, it may not be registering as complete.  For those of you who have NOT completed it, please refer back to our opening information during admin day or via emails for the links.  If you have completed everything and you get an email from me, just let me know so I can update the records.

Thank you to my AI friend, Gemini,  for helping me write this motivational paragraph for all of you:

The first month of school can be a whirlwind of new faces, routines, and expectations. Remember, you're not alone in this. Every one of us has felt overwhelmed at times. Take a deep breath, celebrate your small victories, and know that with patience and perseverance, you'll find your rhythm. Our students are watching and learning from you, so let your resilience shine through. You've got this!

Unfortunately, Gemini did not do as well generating a “you’ve got this” image…

Humans still needed 😆 so, keep being kind to humankind!

(and yes I spelled it correctly on my prompt, I double checked!!)

The weekly broadcast is emailed by Mrs. Laura Brown each week!  Check out this week’s broadcast to hear more about “Akahai” from Mrs. Miyashiro and Ms. Anzai’s class!

Resources start this week for grades 4, 3 and K.  Please talk to students about how to be respectful and follow rules during the resource day classes.  Please note that Kumu Samoana will have a sub for Thursday and Friday next week, however, students will follow the same schedule.

We will be holding our first fire drill this week Wednesday, weather permitting.  We will review the drill and prep for Safety Week drills which will be from 9/4-9/6.  For the fire drill, please review with students how to walk out quietly and safely to the field area.  Teachers, bring your red safety bag and Safety Handbook with you.  As you line up on the field, display your green number to be checked off if all of your students are accounted for.  Display the red number if you are missing students.  We do not expect you to line up in numerical order, however,  we ask that you wear your stylish safety vest with pride for visibility during the drill.
