Updates for Week of August 12, 2024

Appreciations We are so appreciative of all of you for preparing and implementing successful plans for the first week of school!  Much time was spent building relationships and rapport with your new students and families, navigating a new bell schedule, managing unexpected obstacles and overall, seriously just CRUSHING IT last week!  There were many smiles and positive reactions from our students and families. Thank you to Star (our cafeteria manager) and the cafeteria staff for the adjustments made for lunch service.  Your quick adjustments truly helped as we navigated the new recess and lunch times for grade levels.  We appreciate the adult supervisors and scanners who are also navigating the new rotations and responsibilities associated with the changes.  And thank you to the teachers and support staff who jumped in as we work to improve the overall operations.  Thank you for being there and helping wherever and whenever there was a need.  We will continue to monitor and adjust our operations to continue moving forward with this positive momentum. Apologies Unfortunately,  the picture taking for new student IDs did not go as planned on Friday.  We apologize for the disruption caused by the unexpected challenges and technical difficulties. What will be happening next - IDs with your student's name, grade level and barcode (no pictures) will be printed for students and distributed as soon as they are ready. A new ID with your student's picture will be printed at the time of their school picture taking, which is scheduled for September 11, 2024. We appreciate your understanding.

Additional Stuff Weekly Broadcast Information:  Laura Brown will share a link to our school broadcast via email every Sunday evening for you to show in your class during Monday Morning Business. This is a wonderful opportunity to keep our students informed and engaged with the latest school news and events. If you would like to feature your students in our broadcast or have a special event that you would like to share, please let Laura Brown know at least a week prior to the event. We would love to highlight the amazing things happening in your classroom! DIBELS and iReady testing starts this week.  Review information shared via email from Ashley and Regina from August 8.   As you transition into more academics this week, remember to keep your relationship building as a focus of your morning meetings, especially if you have new students join in this week.   HGLs will be meeting on Monday.  They will be provided with information to share with you all at your home group meetings on Wednesday.  You may also provide feedback to your HGL to bring to the meeting.  On Wednesday, grade levels will meet together.  Special Education Inclusion teachers and EAs should attend the Home Group with your grade levels.  FSC/Med Frag and PreSchool teachers and EAs will meet with the SPED HGL (Deanna Gomez) to receive the information.
