Time is flying by and the next 2 weeks are FULL of FUN!

ICYMI WOW Wednesday #1  5/10/2023 From Principal Toy 

Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week once more! It truly takes a village to make Ho'okele the place to be and we are so grateful for all of your care in our community. More appreciation goodies are coming your way (don't forget about Friday lunch!) so please stay tuned. Also, do not forget that there are also appreciations available from businesses!


Please check our weekly inspiration from what's happening in classrooms and also schoolwide updates.


Inspiration: In case you do not know our PTA board, above are the fabulous ladies who planned all the events this week! As a participant in these meetings, please know that your efforts and investment in our students is so appreciated. The PTA worked for months to get plans ready for you all this week and I am inspired by their efforts! 


Inspiration: The Hawaii State Department of Health is awarding banners for "Excellence in Wellness" to 71 schools that achieved 90 percent or more of the wellness guidelines during the last school year, 2021-2022, to commemorate their accomplishment. Ho'okele was one of the excellent schools! We were recognized at the district Principal's Meeting on Tuesday and are the only elementary recipient in Campbell-Kapolei. Congratulations on this shared achievement! 


Inspiration: Please join me in celebrating our very own Mary Kenui for School Nurse Day! She provides so many services and consults to our school community. We could not be more grateful for all she does!


 Updates:

  • Graduation Fundraiser: If you are interested in raising money for your grade level and/or club on May 19, please sign up here for the parking fundraiser.

  • Office Hours: A reminder if you would like to drop by, I am offering office hours in the coming days (list of options here). If times do not work for you, please reach out and we can find another calendar opportunity. A reminder too to please share any feedback for the SY23-24 calendar by the end of week as well.

  • Updated Teacher Lines: With the close of TATP #2, please anticipate updated teacher lines posted by the sign in binder by the front office by the end of day on Monday.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
