Updates for Week of March 1, 2021

Welcome Ms. Cynthia Reyes as Ho‘okele’s SASA!  Cynthia has been hired into this position and we are excited to have her officially on board in this role.

A traffic safety reminder will be going home this week to parents to assist with drop off and pick up procedures.  Please remind your families about the following specifics for your grade levels:

*Drop off and pick up times AND locations

*Ask students to bring bags to take home their lunches

Our final grade levels (4th and 5th) start this week on the blended learning model. What an exciting time this has been with the students coming back.  We have heard so many positive things and immense gratitude from parents for the opportunity for students to be in school.  Thank you for making everything happen and thank you for helping to guide your colleagues in other grade levels by sharing the successes and challenges you have had in order to help us become successful as a school.

iReady information was shared by Regina through email on Friday.  Please refer to that email for important information regarding benchmark assessments.

This week is our Hats Off to Reading Week.  Please see the information from Tara regarding Spirit Dress Days and the guest reader videos available to share with students this week.

Enjoy the last 2 busy weeks before Spring Break!  We will keep you posted about updates for Q4 learning as the information becomes available.

Information for Students (Updates shared this week via Seesaw)

Aloha Students!

This week the 4th and 5th grade students will be joining the lower grades on their A/B rotation schedules.  We are so excited to see our upper grade students and know you will have no problems adjusting to in person learning this week.

It’s hard to believe that it was almost 1 year ago that we had to move into distance learning.  Getting back has been an exciting and long journey and probably a little scary for some of you as well.  Please know we have many procedures in place to help keep you safe.  We are looking forward to seeing you!

We will have 2 weeks of this schedule before Spring Break.  You can expect to hear more about what school will be like after Spring Break once those decisions are finalized.  In the meantime, keep being amazing whether you are on line or in person!

Great job with the fire drill last week for those who were on campus! You were calm and followed directions very well, helping us practice this important safety drill. We will have another drill for students in group A at the end of March.

Most students will have some assessments over the next couple of weeks.  These assessments will help your teachers know how much you are learning and what areas you need more help with.  Please do the best that you can!

Thank you to Mrs. Bagoyo for setting up our Hats off to Reading Week.  For this week, you can participate in the following spirit days:

Monday 3/1:  “I’m Not Going to Get Up Today”-Pajama Day

Tuesday 3/2:  “The Cat in the Hat”-Hat Day

Wednesday 3/3: “Fox in Sox”-Funky Socks Day

Thursday 3/4:  “Green Eggs and Ham”-Green Day

Friday 3/5:  “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”-Favorite Place Day

Please be sure all clothing meets our dress code requirements.

Wishing you a wonderful week!
