Updates for Week of September 7, 2020
Information has been sent to parents with information and forms to complete. These are forms we typically share at the start of school year. If you receive any forms back (MVA-1 or the Emergency Contact Cards), please forward them to: forms@hookele.k12.hi.us. Taylor will be assisting us with form collection-Thanks Taylor!
If you have not done so, please upload your class schedules to the folder shared with you (emailed on 9/1 and 9/4 to teachers). You may start to see us popping in to more of your classes now that things are becoming a little bit more routine. It’s awesome to see how everyone is adjusting to our new normal! Also, as it may pertain to your scheduling, please see Laura Brown’s email from 8/27 regarding resource classes. Virtual resource classes and your PLC time start on September 14, 2020.
SPED teachers and Counselors are working hard to schedule IEP and 504 meetings that are supposed to be completed in the first quarter. We will need a lot of flexibility and assistance to make all of these meetings happen in that timeline, as best as we are able to do. Please consider how you may be able to help support this massive effort if asked. Thanking you in advance!
Keep checking your emails regularly for any new updates and information. Have a great week!

Aloha Students!
We hope you are enjoying your 3 day weekend safely! Spend some off-screen time to help you refresh.
On Friday 9/4/2020, an email was sent to families with some forms that we need your parents to complete. Please ask them if they saw an email with information and forms to fill out. There is some important information for you too regarding Behavior Expectations under Chapter 19 and our schools policy on bullying and threats. All these rules apply, even in your virtual classroom. Thank you for your help!
Fall Picture taking will be available during Fall Break at Expressions studio in Pearlridge Center. Information will be sent home to your family during this coming week through email.
We want to let you know that we are truly amazed by how well you are continuing to do in your classes. It can be difficult and confusing to keep up sometimes. Make sure you utilize your teachers’ office hours or email them any time you need extra help. Don’t be too surprised if you see your principal, vice principals or other teachers stopping by your virtual classrooms for a short visit. We just want to check in to see how things are going.
Whenever you are faced with a challenge, keep telling yourself I CAN and I WILL and NEVER GIVE UP. Persevere through the tough times and know you have support when you need it. Be your most awesome self today and every day! Have a great week!
