Updates for Week of August 19, 2019

Information for Teachers and Staff

Resources begin this week.  Please follow (and stay with) your students to their classes this week to get them acquainted with the resource teachers and expectations for resource classes.  The teachers are listed below in the student section. We are hoping our new PE and coding teacher, Ms. Barber, will be able to start on Tuesday, however, if there are changes you will be notified.  Your PLC times will begin next week (week of August 26).

Home Group Leaders will meet on Monday after school in the library.  Wednesday’s meeting will be with your home groups (grade levels).

As we move into the 3rd week of school, routines and expectations should be established. Thank you for reviewing and assisting your students in learning what is expected of a Ho‘okele student.  Let us know what supports you may still need or what we can reinforce with your students.

Enjoy week 3!

This Week
No PLCs during this week.  Teachers are expected to attend resource classes to assist PTTs with getting to know your routines, expectations and students.

Lesson for the Week of August 26, 2019:

Information for Students
There will be a lunch menu change for Monday, August 19th.  No fish sandwich will be served. Chicken Patty Sandwich will be served instead.
Every week, you will have special classes called resources.  This time allows you to learn many different subjects and also allows your teachers to have meeting time to plan for your learning. This week you will get to know your resource teachers:
Coach Cain and Ms. Barber (PE)                                                                                                        Kumu Nettie (Hawaiian Studies) Ms. Craft (Music) Ms. Jatico (Computer) Ms. Asencios (Coding)
Please remember that you are expected to follow all of our behavior and Tribes expectations with your teachers on resource days that you follow on regular days in your classrooms.  Your homeroom teachers will be following along with you this week to help you get to know these very special teachers.
We hope you are learning a lot about bullying from your teachers to help identify what bullying looks like and how you can help prevent it!  We take this very seriously at our school and we need everyone’s help to keep our school a safe and comfortable learning environment for all.
Have a great week!
