Information for Students
Congratulations to Grade 1 Ms. Tamaru’s class-the classroom with the most gotcha tickets for last week! They have earned an extra 5 minutes of recess to be scheduled this week.
Congratulations to these 7 classes for earning 3 green cups this week during lunch in the cafeteria.
- Gr. 2, Ms. Yamamoto
- Gr. 3, Ms. Zwirgzdas
- Gr. 3, Ms. Patterson
- Gr. 4, Ms. Stevens
- Gr. 5, Mr. Depolis
- Gr. 5, Ms. Kim
- Gr. 5, Ms. Stockwell
The second and third grade classes received their ice pops Friday. The fourth and fifth grade classes will receive their ice pops on Monday.
Resource classes start this week! What’s that you ask?? Well, your resource days are a day of learning that is slightly different from your typical day. While your teachers attend very important meetings, you will have new teachers coming in to teach you music, Hawaiian Studies, PE, coding, computer skills and makerspace activities.
Please welcome and show your respect to our teachers returning this week:
Kumu Nettie (Hawaiian Studies)
Ms. Craft (Music)
Ms. Cain (PE)
Ms. Asencios (Coding)
Ms. Higa (Makerspace)
Ms. Jatico (computer skills)
We strongly suggest you wear covered shoes to school. Shoes are required for PE days. Also as a reminder, there is no court use during recess times when PE class is taking place.
Your resource teachers will be excited to meet you and learn your routines! Be on your best behavior to earn gotcha points for your class!
During the first 2 weeks of school, we have been observing you at recess.
- GREAT job on freezing at the whistle and WALKING to your lines. You are doing a really good job at this-
- But do remember that you should freeze quietly and wait for the whistle.
- No game playing or running after the whistle blows-just quietly return equipment to where it belongs and walk to your line up area.
- NO TAG or chasing games are permitted. This is for your safety. We have a lot of students wanting to play and we do not want anyone to get hurt. You may run on the grassy areas away from other activities or recess equipment.
- If you bring out a water bottle or snack, be sure to bring it back with you. Throw away your rubbish and do not leave anything behind.
- SHARE and COOPERATE at recess. We do not have individual recess equipment for everyone so you need to cooperate and share with each other. Be kind and make sure recess is fun for everyone!
Reminder: Anchored4Life Team leader training is Monday from 10:00-2:00 pm for our leaders. Please report to PD Center in D Building upstairs.
