Updates for Week of September 26, 2016

Information for Teachers
We are fortunate to have refrigerators for all grade levels in your PLC rooms...however, it is the responsibility of the grade level to clean these out periodically.  Plan on having a rotation amongst your grade level to clean out the fridge monthly. Please be sure to clean them out before Fall Break!

If you plan on working over the weekends, your AC will not be able to be turned on.  We ask that you not adjust your AC from the classrooms.  Please contact Mike if you have any questions.

Janae Kremer (our Maker Space PTT) is now available Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays for sub teaching.  Teachers are welcome to email, call or text to prearrange jobs with her. The updated preferred sub list is still being worked on.  You may refer to the draft or contact Mindy if you are in need of a preferred sub.  Please let me know if you have information regarding any subs on the current list that need to be updated (wrong numbers, no longer available, etc…)

Please see Jared’s email (9/22) regarding our AVID walkthrough checklist and the teacher survey due by Monday.  We will be using the checklist Monday for our walkthroughs.  We look forward to being in your classes!

A Bright Spot to Note:  Our movie night was a success!  We had many families come enjoy the free movie and the great snacks last Friday!  Kindergarten, Grade 5 and Robotics made several hundred dollars each in fundraising money and provided yummy movie time treats to enjoy!  Thank you to Janelle, PCNC and the volunteers for coordinating the tickets and running the event.  Thanks to Mike and Laura B. for being at work from before 6 am to nearly 10 pm on Friday to stay and help us out!  We appreciate all who were able to attend or contribute and look forward to more fun events and opportunities!  As always, please accept our apologies and appreciations if we have forgotten to mention your role in supporting the event.
Sun, Face, Smiling, Cartoon, ...Someone shining so brightly that it hurts your eyes??  Let Mindy know so we can showcase them in our updates!

Information for Students
Students have been leaving much rubbish and belongings behind on the playground after recess. Remember to take care of this place and throw your rubbish in the trash can.  Check the area before you leave and make sure you have your water bottles and your lunch/snack bags.

Backpacks are personal property of each student.  You should never take another student’s bag or backpack (or any of their belongings) without having permission to do so.  Please remember to zip up your bags if you leave them outside your classrooms on hooks to keep items from falling out of them into the hallways.

We hope you and your family enjoyed movie night last week!  It was great to see so many of you come out for a fun family event!

Have a great week!  Just 2 more weeks before the end of Quarter 1!
