Information for Teachers
This week is spirit week!  Please read attached for details.
Fire inspection is coming up in October-November.  We will do a pre inspection during fall break. Please make sure your rooms are ready for inspection at any time.  Here are some reminders…
Evacuation Maps should be posted near the exit.  If your classroom or office is missing a map or if you need a different orientation, notify admin. (note:  I plan to replace the current ones with easier to read maps...as long as you have a map at this point it is OK)
Exits and Doors should not be obstructed.
Pull Stations and Fire extinguishers need to have a 3 foot clearance and must not be obstructed.
Extension Cords are not to be used as permanent wiring.  Multiplugs are not approved or allowed.  No Piggy backing (power strip to power strip/power strip to extension cord) is allowed.
You need at least an 18” clearance to the ceiling.  No Storage should be closer than 18” to ceiling.
All Appliances must be plugged directly to an outlet and not to an extension cord.
Banners and Hanging items should be non flammable and do not block views of exits.
All rooms should be free of clutter!!

9/20:  PRIDE WEEK:  Friendship Day!
         Resource Day and PLC  for Grades K (8:55-12:30) and 5 (8:55-12:50)
9/21:  PRIDE WEEK:  No Homework Day!
         CARES Award submissions due (See Laura’s email from 9/9)
         1:10 pm Home Group Meetings
9/22:  PRIDE WEEK:  Career Day!
         Resource Day and PLC for Grades 2 (9:10-12:55) and 3 (9:10-12:55)
         VP Meeting (M. Pamatigan off campus)
         Deadline for return of PT conference forms
9/23:  PRIDE WEEK:  Super Hero Day!
         Resource Day and PLC for Grades 1 (8:55-12:30) and 4 (8:55-12:50)
         Family Movie Night

Information for Students
You will be asked soon to complete a Tribes survey for your class.  Please answer honestly as we will use this information to help make our school better!
We have installed foaming soap dispensers in all building restrooms. One pump of soap is allowed. If soap is misused the dispensers will be removed and replaced with liquid soap from sink. 


Paper towels and toilet paper is being misused, being thrown onto floors and/or stuffed down toilets. Restrooms are not playground areas and should be treated like their bathrooms at home. We need ALL students help to keep our campus clean. 
We hope you will participate in Spirit Week this week!
Sep 19 Pajama Day
HAVE PRIDE IN YOURSELF! Students may wear their pajamas to school. Students must wear appropriate footwear (no house slippers or bare feet). All pajamas must meet the HES dress code. Stuffed animals are not to be brought to school.


Sep 20 Friendship Day
HAVE PRIDE IN YOUR CLASSMATES AND FRIENDS!  Team up with friends and look the way they do by wearing the same clothes. You can even do the same hairstyles as them.
Sep 21 No Homework Day
WE ARE PROUD HO‘OKELE STUDENTS! And we are well-rounded individuals.  Use the time you would normally be doing homework to explore something new.  Students must be in their school uniform on Wednesday.
Sep 22 College & Career Day
WE ARE PROUD TO BE COLLEGE & CAREER READY! Show off your college affiliation by wearing apparel from any college or university. OR Wear something that shows what you want to be when you grow up.
Sep 23 Super Hero Day
BE A SUPER HERO TODAY! Come dressed as an easily identifiable superhero.


Students who ride the school bus-remember bus route changes will take effect this week Thursday for those getting picked up at Kama’aha and Kanio Streets.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school.
