Information for Teachers
Congratulations on your survival of week 1!  We hope you had a restful weekend and are ready for the madness fun we will know as week 2!  Expect more students as kindergarten will start full days. We are going to modify recess to add in some court time for K/1 at recess due to the high numbers and need for closer supervision.  We are continuing to monitor all recess times to ensure adequate supervision is able to be provided.  Your flexibility and timeliness is much appreciated-especially if rain continues into the week!
If you have yard duty after lunch, please report to the D/E gates/field areas by the bell.  Students will be released to recess when yard duty teachers are visible and ready in ALL areas. If we have rainy day recess, please pick your students up from the cafeteria at the end of LUNCH to take them back to class for recess.  In heavy rains, you can walk students to and from the cafe by going through F building to stay covered.
Classified staff-if you had trouble viewing the FERPA and McKinney Vento videos, we will show them in the tech center after school on Wednesday.

        First full day for all kindergarteners
8/9:   Grade K-5 Fall diagnostic testing
        Meeting with PTTs for Resource Days (VP/PTTs)
8/10:  Grade K-5 Fall diagnostic testing
         Faculty Forum (1:10-2:35 pm for AVID, ELL)
         Classified Staff video viewing (FERPA, McKinney Vento) in Haku Tech Center 1:30-2:30 pm
8/11:  Grade K-5 Fall diagnostic testing
         Use of Facilities (Office Conference rooms 8-3:30 pm for PE)
8/12:  Grade K-5 Fall diagnostic testing
         Official Enrollment Count Date
         AED Training (Office 8-9am)
         Deadline for Staff acknowledgements of opening day packets (turn in to VP)

Upcoming week:

8/15:  Resources begin this week (teachers to follow and/or conduct assessments)
         No Hawaiian Studies for upper grades; PE pending for lower grades
         Make-Up Resource Day for Grades 1 (8:55-12:30) and 4 (8:55-12:50)
         Schedules due to VP and office
8/16:  Resource Day for Grades K (8:55-12:30) and 5 (8:55-12:50)
8/17:  Faculty Forum (1:10-3:35 pm-1 hour extended day for EES Refresher; Data Teams)
8/18:  Use of Facilities:  Menu Committee Planning Meeting (Staff Dining Room 8-3 pm)
         Resource Day for Grades 2 (9:10-12:55) and 4 (9:10-12:55)
         Use of Facilities:  PLC in Library 2:45-4:00 pm
8/19:  No School-Statehood Day!
Information for Students
Great job students on your first week of school!  We appreciate those of you who remember our expectations and are following them. We appreciate those of you helping our new students to adjust and learn about our school.  As we continue to work together-remember to take care of each other and be responsible for your own actions!
We highly recommend that you wear covered shoes instead of sandals or slippers.  You must be wearing shoes to go on recess equipment.  Please only go on recess equipment that you feel safe on-if it is too high for you to do by yourself, find another area where you can play safely.
CPO:  Both squads on duty this week!  Please be sure to listen to our CPOs as they provide a valuable service to our school safety.  Use designated crossing areas when crossing the driveways.  
If you are getting picked up after school-be sure to get there quickly!  Your parents are probably waiting for you!

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school.
