Updates for the Week of April 6, 2026

The "Ho‘okele JPO Heavyweight" Canned Food Drive Challenge is here!!!!

Ho‘okele JPOs are gearing up for the 2026 Field Day Competition, and we aren't just competing on the field—we’re competing to feed our community!

In partnership with the Hawaii Foodbank, our JPOs are hosting a school-wide Food Drive leading up to the big event. We are joining forces with 50 other schools and 1,500 students to make a massive impact, but we need YOUR help to bring home the Heavyweight Championship Belt!

Last year, we collectively donated over 1,719 lbs of food. This year, we’re aiming even higher!

HOW TO HELP:

  • STARTING NOW (March 30-April 9): Bring your canned goods and non-perishable items to school.

  • DROP OFF: School Store (located to the left of the front office)

  • THE GOAL: Every ounce counts toward our total weight and helps a family in need.

Thank You,

Ho‘okele JPOs

Purple Up Day: Event Overview

For those planning to teach this summer:  Our Summer Learning Hub plan has been approved, and we’re excited to move forward! There are a few updates and changes we’d like to go over with you.

Please join us for a Summer Learning Hub meeting on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 3:15 p.m. in the Library. Your attendance is appreciated.

From Katie, Ashley and Kristen:  We wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make our Family S.T.E.A.M. Night such a wonderful success!

We truly appreciate you taking the time to give back to our students and their families to host such a fun and engaging event. Your enthusiasm at the stations was wonderful to see, and it was clear how much our students enjoyed the hands-on learning experiences you provided.

A special thank you goes out to everyone for staying late and jumping in to help with the clean-up process. Having such a supportive team made the transition at the end of the night seamless, and we are so grateful for your hard work and dedication.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible custodial staff (and Josh!). Their hard work behind the scenes—from the initial set-up to the final clean-up—was essential in making this event possible. We truly couldn't have done it without their support and efficiency.

Thank you to Katie, Ashley and Kristen and our Team of STEAM Volunteers for putting together our Family STEAM Night on Thursday!  This year’s event really included much variety and engaging activity for all.  We appreciate all who came out in support!  Mahalo Jill, Kari, Carisse, Laura, Liane, Regina, Crystal, Jordyn, Jasmine, Darby, Catherine, Natalie, Tracie, Jen, Walter, Leonie and Cindy.

Check out our Instagram for pictures and more information about  the event!

Don’t see your birthday?  Did you fill out this form?  This is the Personnel Data form that helps us keep information that only the office and admin use for emergencies (and to acknowledge birthdays).  If you do not wish us to acknowledge your birthday, please let us know and we will not share, however we do ask that all staff members complete the form so we can have your emergency contacts and vehicle information.

Thank you!
