Our school community thanks you for your incredible, stellar powers!

Ho'okele's Got Talent: A Masterclass in Student Performance

The Ho'okele Student Council delivered an absolute triumph with this 27-act showcase on Friday night, proving that raw talent is in abundance at Ho'okele. The program was a breathtaking, high-energy marathon that balanced technical precision with cultural pride.

From the pulsating rhythm of the opening dance numbers to the sophisticated piano solos, the variety was impeccable. Cultural performances were the undeniable heart of the show—the riveting Fire Knife dance and the various Hula and Tahitian routines were executed with stunning authenticity. The vocalists brought infectious charisma to the stage, perfectly complemented by a well-timed, laugh-out-loud comedy set that kept the audience fully engaged.

Seamless, ambitious, and brimming with heart, this wasn't just a school event—it was a curated exhibition of genuine artistry. A five-star effort from every student involved.

Here is a full list of the performers in case you missed the show!

Did you see how we have been partnering up with UH Manoa?  Last week UH Manoa Engineering students visited to provide our Grade 4 students with valuable feedback to help improve the roller coasters they are designing for their PBL project. They explored concepts like potential and kinetic energy, and how these forces play a crucial role in successfully moving the marble through the track. Our students also learned the importance of a strong structural foundation in their designs.

Mahalo nui to the UH Mānoa Engineering Program for sharing your ʻike (knowledge) once again! Our students truly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from you and proudly share their projects. Check out the Instagram post!

On Monday, UH Football players will be visiting with Grade 2!  We can’t wait to hear about this visit!

The LAST day of After-School Tutoring is Thursday, April 30th.

Please see Ashley Shinn’s email for instructions for teachers (4/24).

Thank you for supporting our students!

Have you tried rewarding your students with the new PBIS Rewards?  At this week’s faculty meeting we will be learning more through Vertical Articulation how each grade level is trying it out!  Come share your successes, challenges and questions as we navigate the pilot of this schoolwide positive behavior support system.
