PURPLE STAR ACHIEVED! Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (Department) and the Joint Venture Education Forum (JVEF) announced Ho‘okele Elementary as one of the 2024-2025 school year (SY) Purple Star NORBERT Hawaiʻi Award recipients! This prestigious award recognizes schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to supporting students and families connected to our nation’s military. These schools have shown intentional and cohesive efforts to provide unique support to students and families navigating the challenges of frequent transitions due to military service. We are honored to be recognized for our outstanding service to our military students and families. Our Anchored 4 Life, MFLC, transition center, and student tours have been instrumental in supporting this population, which includes families in temporary housing and represents all military branches. Our military impacted population stands at 17% and has been as high as 27%. This recognition will facilitate valuable partnerships with military liaisons and organizations, allowing us to further enhance our support. We will share more details about these opportunities soon. THANK YOU! |
