Happy Read Across America Week!


Please see Mr. Rankie’s Friday afternoon email for information and announcements about Finding Nemo Kids, Anchored 4 Life, 2024 HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawaiʻi Winter Challenge Winner, School Year 2024-2025 Na Kumu Alaka‘i -Teacher Leader Academy, Math Mini-Conference on April 6th at Leilehua HS, and Japan-Hawaiʻi Connections: A Teacher Workshop in conjunction with the East-West Center Gallery exhibition.


Thank you to the cast, crew and many supporters for the FABULOUS performances of Finding Nemo Kids!  This event really helps to set Ho‘okele Elementary apart from the rest and we are so proud of all of the hard work and effort that goes into it every step of the way.  It’s always awesome to see the looks on the faces of the audience as they are blown away by the performance of our students.


Our Grade 4 Parent Activity is Monday!  Refer to Regina Yamamoto’s email from 2/24 with detail about this event.


It’s a busy week!  Don't forget to check out the PTA Craft Fair this coming Saturday! Thank you all for being at Ho‘okele!

For this week’s planning for OG Training:

The Reading Workshop Teachers will be attending the O-G training with Ron Yoshimoto during the week of February 26th - March 1st. All Reading Workshop classes and grade-level support will be canceled that week so the teachers can attend the training. Please plan to keep your students with you that week.


D206 will be used for the training (Monday-Thursday).  

OG will be  in the library on Friday 3/1.

3rd Grade combo class will use B102 that week and 4th grade combo class will use D206 as OG will be in the library.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
