Updates for the 1st Week of SY 2023-2024!


Aloha!

Thank you to all of you for all of your hard work and preparation in anticipation of this very exciting week with students starting school!!  There are still events and activities being fine tuned, so please keep checking your emails for updates and details.  

Monday and Tuesday are teacher work days.  Let us know if you need any assistance as you get ready to make a positive and lasting first impression on your students and families at our Meet and Greet.  Linked is a form you can utilize for sign ins, including an e form link, but feel free to create your own that meets your needs for your classroom.  If you use the e link, copies of your sign in information will be forwarded to you.

Thank you so much for your patience as we finished the Yard Duty Schedule for this school year. Please see the schedule here. If you have any questions or concerns about the schedule, please let VP Miyashiro know by noon on Tuesday, August 9, 2023. This gives us time to make updates based on your suggestions before the start of school.

During the first week of school (August 10 - August 12), it would be greatly appreciated if you come outside during recess, even if it is not your scheduled yard duty time. We would appreciate the help when the students (and me!) are learning the routines for this school year.


Don’t forget to turn in your Opening of the School year forms to VP Pamatigan (or using the google form).  This should be completed prior to our students returning on Wednesday.

DOE AND HO'OKELE SCHOOL CALENDAR:
The first day of school for students is on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.  Please keep in mind that Wednesday, August 9th is an early release day.  School ends at 12:50pm.  The DOE and the Ho‘okele School Calendar can be found on our school website. 

IN-PERSON MEET AND GREET:

We are proud to bring back our IN PERSON Meet and Greet!  Meet & Greet is an informal time where parents and students can meet their child’s teacher, drop off school supplies, pay for meals, apply for bus transportation, apply for free & reduced lunch, and purchase uniforms.  Don't forget to stop and check out our school library!  See the website for additional information.

GRADE PK-5 UNIFORM SALES:

The Custom Company will be selling student uniforms at our In-Person Meet and Greet (dates and times listed above).  Please check out our school website for additional Uniform information.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
