ARE YOU READY?  The answer is YES!  Of course!  During the first couple of weeks, we have seen AMAZING things in your classrooms and around campus.  With our very special guests coming this Friday, we know they will be greatly impressed with how much is being accomplished already for this school year.


Please prepare your students for this visit by letting them know that Superintendent Hayashi, Complex Area Superintendent Tajima, our Complex Area Principals and our Ho‘okele Support Team will be meeting and touring the campus on Friday.  The estimated time is between 10:00-11:30 am.  We look forward to showcasing our school, faculty, staff and students during this special visit.


All Teachers and Staff are invited to join our PTA.  Our membership goal for this year is 150.  Sign up and be part of the fun!  Forms are available in the front office or on the PTA website:  https://www.hookelepta.org/. We are EXTENDING the deadline to receive a gold PTA shirt with your registration fee to this FRIDAY, AUGUST 25, 2023. 


Congratulations to the Grade 4 Teachers! Grade 4 was the first grade level to complete their Second Step lessons! They enjoyed mochi donuts to celebrate their achievement. Keep up the great work!

As you are aware, many Maui residents are displaced from their homes without access to food. Due to the crisis, people have lost their jobs, increased their expenses, and have nowhere to go for groceries. Ho‘okele Elementary School’s Student Council has partnered with Maui Food Bank to provide relief and assistance to those in need. With every $1 donated, the Maui Food Bank can provide four meals to the people of Maui. If able and interested, please follow this link to donate.


SY 23-24 Teacher Support Group Opportunities


Administration would like to provide more opportunities for our teachers to grow within our school community.  Please indicate if you would be interested in being a participant or helping to facilitate one of these groups, which will be coordinated by our VPs.  


Leadership Growth Group:    This group is for ambitious teachers looking for fun and exciting leadership opportunities to help grow in their own professionalism while networking with others and helping the school progress and grow as a community.  


New Teacher Support Group:  This group is for any teacher who is new to Ho‘okele or new to the teaching profession who would like an opportunity to connect with other teachers in our school community in a very fun way.


RSVP by September 1, 2023.  Participation is optional.  Meeting dates will be coordinated by VPs with the interested teachers.

Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school.
