Inspiration: Our Grades 3-5 Career Day today was another success! It was great to see our students engaging with our Kapolei High School visitors as they asked thoughtful questions and made Ho'okele proud by showing mutual respect.

Surveys for Input:

  1. Feedback for Leslie: I am always seeking to learn, grow, and be better! Please consider taking this brief 5-question anonymous survey. Thank you for the gift of feedback! 

  2. EES from Faculty Meeting: If you did not get a chance to yet, please consider submitting feedback on the Educator Effectiveness System.

  3. Panorama Wellness from Faculty Meeting: Please find the email from this weekend in your @k12.hi.us email: “Take the 2023 HIDOE Teacher & Staff Well-Being Survey Today!” The teacher wellness portion is at the bottom of the page for lower grades when you open the link. 

  4. Implementation Plan from Faculty Meeting: Here again is the draft of implementation plan strategies and measures, the link to the online feedback form, and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) document. Please consider sharing your input by the March 31st deadline for state consideration.


Professional Development: 

As a reminder, if you intend to use any of these PD courses for reclassification purposes do not forget to obtain an administrator's approval prior to registering for any course.

  1. Project Inspire is an online professional development credit program designed to support teachers with instructional best practices and pedagogy in computer science, educational technology and universal distance/blended learning. Registration for fall courses opened on Monday. For more information, see here!

  2. Sheltered Instruction: In case you missed it, in February a memo came out extending the Sheltered Instruction Qualification (for English Learners) to be completed by the first working day of SY 2026-2027. Here's the FAQ document as well. I know many of you were already working on this requirement -- keep it up!

See Regina Yamamoto’s email 3/27/2023 reminder that the Spring Diagnostic for Grades 3-5 will begin on Wednesday, March 29th.  Please review the i-Ready Spring  Diagnostic Timeline if you haven't done so and don't forget to go over the Good Test Takers Presentation and i-Ready Preparing Students for subsequent Diagnostic Presentation at least a day prior to the start of the first test.

Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
