Welcome Back!


We hope you had a refreshing Spring Break and are fully rejuvenated for an exciting Quarter 4!  We have a lot in store for the quarter with our Career Day, musical performances, Statewide testing, field trips, special events, author visit and SONGFEST!  

As you welcome your students back this week, remember the value of INCLUSION in our Tribes process and use those strategies to re-engage students after Spring Break.  Let us know how we can help you finish up this school year Ho‘okele STRONG!



Please note on Wednesday, A+ will be conducting a fire drill and lockdown drill for their program at about 3:00 pm.  No action is needed from school staff.


Aloha Teachers, 

Your CAT 4: CSSS Lead may have informed you of our Second Step Digital Curriculum Trial for Quarter 4. As a way to help support implementation of the SEL curriculum: Second Step, we have been given a free 30 day trial (with possible extension) of the Second Step Digital Curriculum to see if this platform would be of interest to our school. 


We currently use the Second Step Elementary Classroom Kit for our curriculum. The Digital Curriculum would be accessible through your online account, and presents as more of a slide deck format, with embedded videos. Teachers would still be expected to hold some discussions during the lessons. 


We would like our teachers to trial this version of Second Step for the beginning of Quarter 4, and will be asking for your feedback of this version of the curriculum. You will be receiving an email from Second Step allowing you access to the Digital platform. Please go ahead and add the trial to your existing Second Step account, and feel free to explore the curriculum!

Musical Showing for Students: March 23 & 24, 12:45-1:45 PM 


1st recess regular time (grade levels individually)

No 2nd recess (or indoor)

All adult supervisors report for 1st recess and for each lunch period

Lunch

  • 10:10-10:40 K and 1

  • 10:45-11:15  2 and 3 *Cast eats as well – Laura will pull the 42 students

  • 11:20-11:50  4 and 5

  • 11:50-12:20 Clean and Prep Cafe for performances

  • 12:30 Students can start getting seated (Seating Chart for Assembly)

  • 12:45 assembly begins

SONG FEST!  

On Monday, March 20th, please distribute the Song Fest Invitations to each student.  Packets have been placed in your box.  If you need extra copies they'll be by the sign-in binder in the office. 

  1. Distribute on Monday, March 20th

  2. Collect the white (permission/shirt size) and pink (early release) forms and input the following things into the spreadsheet.  Look for your GL tab at the bottom and find your class list.

    1. Participating: enter "Y" or "N", 

    2. Shirt Sizes: enter "1" under the correct shirt size being requested

    3. Early Release Request: enter "Y" if the parent is requesting an early release pass.  Leave blank if No. Do not throw away this form. You'll need to bring it with you on the day of the Song Fest.

  3. All forms are due on Friday, April 6th.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
