Updates for Week of September 27, 2021

Faculty and Staff Updates

A special shout out this week to our custodial staff:  Mike Bio, Walter Cummings, Kevin Robles, Alfred Lopez, Ericson Zaparita, Leonie DeVera and our Room Cleaners:   Yvette Hamalian, Tonja Hollander and Jennifer Hanawahine.  Saturday, October 2nd is National Custodians Appreciation Day and we are very appreciative of our AMAZING crew!

Modified Fire Drills will be held this week on Thursday (Upper grades) and Friday (Lower grades) mornings at 8:15 am.  We will be doing this in the same format as last month, via announcement.

Our November drills are being planned for full school, as we will also be conducting our school evacuation drill, scheduled for 11/10.  More information will come out with instructions for teachers.

On-site COVID-19 Testing: Thank you to those who participated in our "trial" run this past Thursday. We collected 23 samples from our staff which have been shipped out for testing. As this is our first time partnering with PerkinElemer and Color Health, I recommend those employees who upload weekly negative COVID tests to continue to utilize an additional test until we can determine the reliability of our new system.

We have requested and are waiting on additional supplies for our school team. Once we receive the adequate supplies and can finalize our site procedures, we hope to offer testing to our staff 2 times per week. As more information becomes available we will share it with you.

This week we ask all of you to say THANK YOU to our hard working custodians who help to keep our school clean and safe!  When you see any of them in the halls or in the cafeteria, be sure to show appreciation to them.  It is ESPECIALLY helpful when you are responsible for cleaning up any mess that you make, such as picking up your rubbish from the floor and making sure it goes into a trash can.  Let’s show our custodians how much WE CARE about them by helping to TAKE CARE of our place!

2 more weeks before FALL BREAK!  Keep being strong-you’ve got this and we are proud of you!
