Aupuni Palapala Professional Development Opportunities for School Year 2021-2022:

Requests for 6 section plexiglass partitions and 3ft x 6ft tables: Please put in a custodial request if you would like to have a 6 section (3ft x 6ft) partition for your classroom. As a reminder, even with the partition, social distancing of our students is still expected to the greatest extent possible. If you also require a table for the partition to fit on, please put in a request for that as well. Tables will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
On-site COVID-19 Testing: In partnership with PerkinElmer and Color Health, Ho'okele will be conducting a "trial" run of a self-administered, free COVID test this Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 7:00am - 7:45am. We will use the experience of this "trial" run to adjust and scale our program to possibly afford this opportunity to our staff and students on a regular basis. Results from this "trial" COVID test should be received anywhere from 48-72 hours after testing. For employees who upload weekly negative COVID tests, you may be able to use this to fulfill your requirements. If you are interested in participating in this "trial" run, please register yourself by using the following link. You only need to register once. From my understanding, should we offer this testing opportunity again, you will not need to register again.
In the event we receive a high volume of requests to participate in this "trial" run, we will try our best to accommodate everyone. Again, this is only for our current HES staff members (no students, family members, or community members) so please do not share the following link outside of our staff. More information will be provided next week. If you have any questions beforehand, please feel free to contact me.

Our modified bell schedule will begin this week. Big changes to note-Grades 2-5 recess will be 5 minutes earlier with a 5 minute transition after recess/before lunch. Grade 1 recess has been moved from 1:00 to 12:25 pm. Modified Bell Schedule 9/2021 Lunch times are not changed and there are no changes for Wednesday schedules.
PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES: Parent-Teacher Conference letters for parents were put in your boxes on Friday. Please distribute these letters to all of your students on Monday. If you need more letters, you may get them from Laura Brown's box. Please email Laura if you have any questions or concerns.

Bell Schedule adjustments: Starting this week, students in grades 2-5 will notice that you will have your 2nd recess starting 5 minutes earlier. This is to help you have enough time between recess/break and lunch. Grade 1 will also have an earlier time for their 2nd recess at 12:25 pm.
