Updates for Week of August 31, 2020
Week of 8/31-9/4/2020 Blog
We are in our last week of August, and moving into September! Thank you for your continued hard work, flexibility, and always doing what’s best for your students.
Here are some reminders for this week:
- The Monday meeting times were updated in the 20-21 PLC_Resource_Faculty Forum Schedule. In order to meet the 21 hours PD and 1 day converted to 6 hours for a total of 27 extended hours, the all day PD days and some of your home group meetings are scheduled till 3:25 pm. We did not tack on the extended hours onto previous days when we did not meet as a faculty and gave that time up to grade levels to plan and prepare.
*Our first extended Monday Faculty Meeting begins this upcoming Monday, August 31 from 1:10-3:25
-We will be continuing Distance Learning for the remainder of Quarter 1 (ending on Friday, October 2)
-Special Education services that cannot be provided in a distance learning format will be available in person. *This week we have about 15 students who will attend face to face learning on campus.
-As a reminder, the TRUF and Student Publication Video/Audio Release forms were due last Friday 8/28. TECHNOLOGY FORMS PARENT CONSENT 2020
Happy Monday Ho’okele Students! You and your teachers have been working really hard during this distance learning time. We have seen how you are being self-directed learners and showing attentive listening while your teachers are instructing you. We have also seen you being respectful to one another when classmates and teachers are having technical difficulties. Having this type of understanding for one another shows how you truly care about each other.
Here are some helpful reminders that may help you out during distance learning:
-Use the bathroom before it’s time to log on
-If possible, try to have a flask of water next to you in case you get thirsty during instruction, that way you won’t miss anything important.
-Please do not eat during class time.
-Sit up at your area and show attentive listening.
Keep up the excellent work, and always ask your teachers if you need help with anything. We are all here to support you. Have a good week!
