Updates for Week of August 24, 2020

We SURVIVED Phase 1!  What an amazing week we had last week connecting with students through our virtual platforms.  It was challenging and exhausting but you made it through!  Hopefully you enjoyed the 3 day weekend and are ready for phase 2!

It was great to see you and our families work through the challenges in learning these new platforms.  Thank you for all of your patience, perseverance and flexibility in making things successful.
Katie and Elizabeth have reached out to get feedback on the week from families as well as from YOU, so we look forward to that feedback to help us all keep moving forward in a positive direction.

There will be no faculty meeting time after school on Monday.  Admin is giving the time to grade levels to use for meeting and for PLCs.   We are finalizing plans for the resource classes and PLC time which will be shared with you shortly, as well as updated faculty meeting days with the extended times.

Reminders:  Please try to collect the TRUF  and Student Publication Video/Audio Release forms by Friday 8/28.  TECHNOLOGY FORMS PARENT CONSENT 2020

Updates to share with Students- recorded message (Shared with teachers and students via Seesaw)
Hello Ho‘okele students! YOU DID IT!  You now have many of the tools you need to be successful in distance learning.  Some of you I’m sure feel like experts, but we know it may still be challenging for some of you.  That is completely OK!  Your teachers, counselors and our support staff are all here to help you.  And remember, your teachers are learning too, so connect with them to share your experiences and feelings about learning.
Please note the change in breakfast and lunch pick up times for next week.  Thank you for bringing your ID with you-it is nice to see you at the pick ups!
Please make sure you have enough money in your account to pay for your meals!

Your teachers will provide you with the schedules for the upcoming week-You can find messages on Seesaw and in your email.  Next week, Thursday and Friday you will take iReady diagnostic assessments, so check for that information too and be sure to try your best so we can determine how best to help you learn!
A survey was sent out to you from your counselors Ms. Yamamoto and Ms. Okamoto-Be sure to fill it out because we want to hear your student voice!
Your Principal and Vice Principals may be popping into your virtual classrooms-we look forward to seeing you and are very impressed with all you have learned in just 1 week!  We know this will be a fabulous year!
Have a great week and remember, if you ever need help, please ask your teacher! We look forward to hearing from you!
