I’m not sure if anyone would have predicted the last month of school being like this, ever!  However, even though we have missed out on some of the planned events and activities, we do not want to miss out on the opportunity to say THANK YOU!  Thank you so much for all of your dedication to continuing the learning opportunities for our students.  We are truly grateful for ALL of the faculty and staff members of Ho‘okele who have adjusted and excelled during this time.  We repeatedly hear from parents about your virtual classroom sessions and efforts to connect, engage, inspire, serve and succeed!  

YOUR INNOVATIVE WORK AND DEDICATION ALLOWS US TO 

NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT A THING!

build our incredible team of educators at Ho‘okele.

express our gratitu-tuu-ude.  

If you have not done so, please check out the AMAZING things that are being shared for our Virtual CARES activities.  Special gratitude to Leslie for facilitating this effort and to ALL of the teachers who are sharing and posting at the Pau Hana meetings, resource sharing, Padlet, Flipgrid and special moments that you are experiencing. It is a great way to review what we are all going through together and how we can stay connected.  Click on the links and check out some of the sharing-and if you haven't tried any of it out yet, may this week (the first week of May) be your first!  Leslie has promised to do special dance lessons at Monday’s Pau Hana!

HGLs will have a brief meeting on Monday at 2:30 pm (Linked below in updates section).

EES updates were provided at last week’s faculty meeting.  Refer to the minutes for links and more information.

On-cycle due dates this week: (Virtual meetings and email to evaluator)
*Modification Approvals for SSPs are due no later than 5/6.
*Core Professionalism portfolios are due Friday 5/8.
*Final ratings by 5/15.

Off-Cycle due dates next week:
*Reflections posted to PDE3 for IPDP, Panorama and Growth Model scores by 5/15.

Highlights:
The Leeward District EL Program is offering 6 WIDA Online courses for Non-Credit PD hours.
*self-paced WIDA eLearning courses 
*Teachers (Gen. Ed., SPED, & EL) may take one or more of these courses. PTTs, PPEs, PPTs, & EAs may also take these courses.
*Courses must be completed by June 30, 2020 (we will be offering these courses next school year, too).
*These courses count towards the "6 EL credit requirement for K-12 licensed teachers" (72 Non-credit PD hours). See Dec. 19, 2020 attached memo below, Option 3.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do! In addition to celebrating our administrative professionals, this week we also gratefully acknowledge the vital contributions of our campus volunteers.
