Happy Last Monday of the school year! (Next Monday is Memorial Day). We will keep everyone updated with the latest information given the new June 30 extension of the state “safer at home” order. As our state eases up on some restrictions, we hope you will continue to be safe and practice social distancing. Expect more updates this week for what this may look like for the school as we continue wrapping things up for SY 2019-2020 and plan for SY 2020-2021. Stay safe and help keep Hawai‘i healthy. Hang in there-Just 2 more weeks to go!
Congratulations to all of our teachers who finished up EES requirements last week! It was great to read through your reflections and to hear about the growth that was made this school year, despite the challenges everyone has faced. I look forward to a time when we can do more sharing together to discuss some of the strength and growth areas that we can continue to pursue.
Thank you to Mike and the office staff who have been working on making the office safe for business to start up again very soon with registrations and releases. For staff office access, we have unlocked the health room hallway door so you may have access to your mailbox. When you have a chance, please come by to check and empty. We have blocked the entrance to the front office from the mailboxes. Please knock on the front door if you need any assistance.
From Jill (Tech Items) : If you're leaving Ho‘okele don't drop off your tech items at the front office. If you are leaving the school, please drop off tech to the library on Friday, May 29th (9-3pm). You may leave it in the library workroom or drop it off in my office.
*If you are returning to Ho‘okele (teachers, PTTs, EAs) you do not need to return tech items at this time.
*Leave cumulative folders in PLC rooms - Place in piles of SY 20-21 class list Label with a piece of paper, class list A, B, C, etc.. Office will place in cumulative cans when they pick it up.
*Can bundle orange health cards by class list A, B, C, etc. and leave it with folders.
Report Card Information: (Emailed by Laureen on 5/14/2020)
Dede will print the report cards for the cumm folders during the summer. I will ask her to print grade 5 first before it gets transported to the middle school.
If you donʻt foresee the new learnings being taught improving an end of year grade to MP or higher, you can start downloading, however, do not email the report cards out yet. Beginning Monday, please let your parents know that you will be emailing a pdf copy of their child's report card on May 28 and to let you know if this is NOT okay with them. If the report cards are printing 137 days of school, just leave it. No need to change the number of days. We are still waiting for the letter from OCID to attach to the End of Year Report Cards.
Hereʻs the folder to download the pdf copies of your studentʻs report cards that the office needs to mail home. Please follow the same procedures like the last time with these conventions.

There was also an email blast regarding report cards from the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Design (OCID) (see email from Infinite Campus Messenger on 5.15.20):
Printing of Report Cards
*As of May 15, 2020, the teacher's signature on the report card has been removed for the 4th Quarter and Final Grade reporting.
*The deadline to enter final grades based on Quarters 1-3 and any interventions provided is May 29, 2020.
*All report cards should be printed no earlier than on the last day for students, which is May 28, 2020 for schools on a traditional calendar. Refer to DOE Memo dated April 22, 2020, entitled, “Final Grades, Report Cards, and Individualized Education Program Progress Report Deadlines and Procedures for School Year 2019-2020.”
*Statement for Teacher Comments in Final Report Cards
*“Due to COVID 19, no 4th Quarter GLO marks or 4th Quarter grades will be entered on the report card. Quarters 1-3 will be used to determine the Final Year-End Grade, including any interventions provided up to May 28, 2020.”
