Updates for Week of February 24, 2020

Information for Faculty and Staff
Classroom visitations (KMS visit) will be between 9:00-10:30 on Tuesday.
Please check your official DOE email (name.lastname@k12.hi.us) for messages.  Some teachers are not getting official emails if they have not set up that account to push to your Ho‘okele account OR are not checking both accounts regularly.  Please see Kasey for assistance if needed.

ALL teachers should have received an email from Panorama Education.  Upper grade classroom teachers would have been given access to your own results of the student survey.  Lower grade and non-classroom teachers should have access to school wide results. You will need this access for Wednesday’s faculty meeting.  Please search your inboxes and SPAM folders as some of our lower grade level teachers have indicated they have received the email link. You must log in with your DOE gmail account.

Please remember to pick up your students from the cafeteria on time.  We are currently and continuously reviewing bell schedules and transitions as we plan for adjustments for this and next school year.  Every minute counts and even a few minutes of delay (or coming too early) can cause problems for the next grade level and/or schedules of the cafe and custodians. We have asked that an immediate adjustment be to use the doors closest to the stage for exiting, to allow incoming students the use of the outer doors enabling them to be in line along the side walls of the cafeteria.  Adult supervisors will help with this adjustment and we will put signs up to assist the flow to assure adequate lunch periods for teachers and students.

Helpful Tip:  We are looking into getting our ID maker repaired for those who have lost IDs.  Making sure your students are wearing their IDs or a visible name tag helps the scanners move the lunch lines more quickly.  On another note, one of the scanners is broken, so each student must be manually entered. Having a name visible helps expedite this process.

Information for Students
There are some upcoming bus route changes for students.  All Bus riders need to report to the cafeteria on Tuesday 2/25 at 1:55 pm (ready to go home) for an important meeting.
Please refrain from bringing personal toys to school.  We are seeing many students with personal items that should be left at home.  Check your bags and pockets before coming to school!!
Please note we are making some adjustments in the cafeteria.  Please follow the directions of your teachers and adult supervisors so we can make sure you are getting to lunch and back to class in a timely manner.  Your appropriate behaviors in the cafeteria help these transitions go more smoothly! Get those blue cups!
We are so excited to see your work at Student Showcase!  We know you worked very hard to be quality producers and integrate art and technology into your pieces.  Please enjoy visiting the displays and show mutual respect by not touching others’ artwork and show appreciations by leaving positive Happy Gram messages!
