Happy New Year and Welcome Back! We hope you enjoyed the holiday season and are refreshed and renewed for an exciting year to come!
Thank you to our TA Cafeteria Manager Dean and the cafeteria staff for preparing our welcome back breakfast today! What a great way to re-energize and start off the day. Welcome back to Derek who will be our TA cook. Lyle is currently working at Holomua Elementary.
A BIG MAHALO to Ms. Christina Asencios for helping cover our 5th grade classroom for the weeks before break. We are happy to announce our new teacher who will be starting this week in the 5th grade position, Ms. Jordyn Valdez.
Ms. Asencios will return to her prior resource role and we will be welcoming 2 new PE teachers for resource classes which resume NEXT week-Ms. Sharlene Paulino and Ms. Yoko Liriano.
There are no resource classes or PLCs this week. Please note changes in resource schedules for the weeks of January 13 and January 20. These changes are necessary due to the SBA interim testing. The schedule will resume to regular for the week of January 27, 2020.

Information for Students
HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s 2020-Welcome back to a new decade! We hope you had a great vacation and are excited to be back!
Congratulations to our students who have had perfect attendance for Semester 1! Being at school every day is a great way to make sure you never miss out on any learning. Special recognition goes out to Ms. Higuchi’s and Ms. Tonaki’s classes for having the least amount of absences for semester 1! GREAT JOB! Keep coming to school!
Students in grades 3-5 will be taking an SBA practice test this week and will be taking the SBA interim assessments for the 2 weeks of January 13 and January 20. Your resource schedules will be adjusted during these times to allow for uninterrupted testing blocks for the upper grades. Please do your best on the practice and interim assessments as the information is used by your teachers to make sure that you are getting the instruction and support that you need.
