Updates for Week of April 17, 2017

Information for Teachers
Hope you al had a nice Easter Weekend!!

Please help your students learn our songfest songs by playing them during appropriate class time.  Although the PTTs are practicing with them, we do need them to have as much exposure to ALL of the songs as possible.  Play the songs as students transition or work independently so they can get used to the lyrics.

Approximately 20% of our students are recognized as military children.  As a school we will be participating by allowing students to wear purple on Friday 4/21.  However, students need to wear their uniform if they are not participating.  Please show your support for our military families!

Student Showcase this Week!  Students will eat lunch in the cafeteria with modified seating. Thank you for all of your hard work teaching the kids about the artists and giving them time to use their creative minds for their showcase projects.  They are truly impressive!  We received many compliments from families and other schools about what is taking place at Ho‘okele!

Sun Images - Public Domain Pictures - Page 1A belated Mahalo and Bright Spot appreciation to Ms. Jacqueline Zackery for her service as meal clerk. Ms. Jackie really helped establish the systems we have in place to run the meal system smoothly and keep our negative balances to a minimum.  Her last day was last week, but hopefully you will see her around campus picking up her son and will be able to bid her a fond aloha!  Best wishes Ms. Jackie in your new adventures!

Have a great week!

We cannot wait to see your artwork displayed at student showcase.  Be sure to invite your families to come see the great masterpieces you have created!  We were fortunate to see the sneak peek at last week’s complex showcase-Families and other schools were very impressed with what Ho‘okele students can do!  Special kudos to the Lion King cast and crew for another stellar performance “on the road.”   Great job!

Because we have modified seating in the cafe and will all need to share tables for lunch, please do your best to keep your area extra clean.  Thank you for your cooperation with this!

As a reminder, all toys should be left at home.  If you are using a fidget spinner or fidget cube as a toy, it needs to be left at home.  They should not be used to distract your learning or the learning of others; nor should they be played with as toys during lunch or recess time. Thank you.

Enjoy your week!
