Updates for Week of July 13, 2015

Hi Everyone,
For those who have not met me, I am your Vice Principal and am looking forward to working with all of you this school year at our new school!  My first year here at Ho’okele marks my 20th year in the DOE!  I have been a VP at Waipahu and Fern Elementary Schools and was an SSC and Special Education Teacher at McKinley High School.  I am incredibly excited to get to know all of you!
With your start coming up next week-we are working feverishly to get everything set up and ready to go.  Thank you so much for responding and completing requests and assignments that have been sent to you from me and Jill.  Please do so as soon as possible if you have not already!

This Week:
  • The south parking, piko area, back office rooms & Bldg G: Laulima will be turned over on 7/15.
  • Keys will be distributed on 7/15.  Please contact Dollinda to get your keys! Access is still limited to school hours as we work on getting alarm codes issued, alarm keypad training and other issues straightened out.


Custodial Corner:
Place all trash in bags and flatten all boxes outside of your classroom. Bags are given upon request. Custodians will come around 3:30 to pick up. Items must be outside your room to be disposed of.
Please ask custodian or office for access to elevator. A custodian must accompany you.



Next Week:  
For all Professional Development trainings and faculty meetings we kindly ask that you bring your own drink for the day.  


July 20-
  • Discovery Education Science Techbook Training - If contract changes are approved  by 7/14/15.
  • Consultants and Legislators coming on campus (tour)  Tentatively between 9am - 11am.


July 21-
  • Board of Education Open House (BOE meetings, campus tour with media)


July 22-
  • Tribes Training & Phone Training, 8 am-3 pm, Library (Location may be changed).
    • Refreshments provided by Admin & Support Team
    • Lunch will be provided by Administration


July 23-
  • ½ Day Tribes Training Continuation, EES Presentation, ½ Day Admin, 8 am-3 pm, Library (Location may be changed).
    • Refreshments provided by: Gr. K-2 teachers
    • $3/person:  Pizza and Salad will be ordered for lunch (See link to order form above)


July 24-
  • Wonders Training (Classroom/Sped Teachers), 8 am-3 pm, Library (Location may be changed).
    • Refreshments provided by: Gr. 3-5 teachers, Pre K & SpEd
    • $7 each:  Tanioka’s Bentos will be ordered for lunch (See link to order form above)
    • Office, Clerical, Custodial, EAs, Health Aide, Cafe Manager- GAFE Training (with Jill)-- More info coming soon.
