Updates for the Week of April 7, 2025

Our 10th Anniversary Ho‘olaule‘a is

THIS SATURDAY from 12:00-6:00 pm!

Come out and join the celebration with Food Vendors,

entertainment and inflatables for the Keiki!

We hope to see you there!

If you are volunteering, Ashley Shinn emailed important information on April 4th with maps, assignments and instructions!

Interested in a leadership role with our students?  Ms. Conteras will be passing the torch of lead JPO advisor next school year.  We are  looking for an eager person to fill this position.

JPO (Junior Police Officer)is a great leadership program where your students can take pride in keeping their school safe, lead and run school wide safety initiatives, and be seen as a leader on campus. As the lead advisor your role would be to guide and train new and incoming JPOs, run weekly drill practices, and organize job rotations.

It is a really fun program to be a part of and our new squad would be lucky to have you on the team. If you are interested please let me know, and Ashley can start working with you in recruiting a great team for you next school year.

Please see Ashley to learn more about this great opportunity.

PURPLE UP from PRESCHOOL

Don't forget to upload your military-connected students to the document attached to Deanna Gomez’s Friday email. On the doc, if you see a name highlighted in green, Deanna already printed that teacher's photos. The sign will be finished and hung up Monday. Any photo not sent by Monday will need to be added by the teacher of that student.

Also, preschool has bought 1,000 flags to distribute to every student to wave during the HEROES WALK. Once they arrive, I will get class counts from the office and distribute flags to your mailboxes. Students are free to take the flags home. If your grade level has time and wants to decorate their hallway for our heroes.... that would be amazing : ) Don't forget to wear your purple on April 15th!

Please see the planned Activities for the Heroes Walk sponsored by Anchored 4 Life that will be held on April 15.  Anchored 4 Life is hosting a Hero Walk & Donuts and Coffee with kids event to honor and celebrate our military-connected students and families. This event includes a Hero Walk “parade” through the school, followed by coffee and donuts for participating families. Thank you to our Ms. Kat, Mr. Cam and Ms. Emma for coordinating this event!

For those participating in the SPED Co-teaching Learning Walks, please see Megan Togami’s email with the schedule and instructions emailed on Friday.  Thank you Megan for your coordination of this opportunity for our inclusion teams!

Morning Broadcast:  Check out this week’s broadcast to learn more about Hawai‘i and Hō‘ihi from from Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Wong’s Grade 2 class!

Our Ho‘okele Dance Team and  Members of the Newsies Jr. Cast performed on Saturday at Kamakana Ali‘i!  Great job always being out there!

From Mrs. Gomez:  Preschool attended their very first district preschool play day on Friday, and this would NOT have been possible without all the incredible support from the staff at Ho’okele. Noreen and I would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Renee, Jeanell, Crystal, Grace, Chan, Ashley, Mel, Carli, and Mindy for coming out and making sure our kiddos were safe and able to play any and every game they wanted! It truly takes a village and we are so happy you are a part of our village! From the bottom of our hearts, MAHALO!!!

Do YOU have an APPRECIATION, APOLOGY, AHA or Additional stuff that you would like shared in this blog?  Please contact VP Melinda Pamatigan should you wish to contribute, clarify or correct any information that is shared.  Posts are done on Sunday mornings, so let me know of information you would like to include by Saturday evening.  Corrections will be made to a posted blog as soon as I receive your notification.  THANK YOU!
