Parkway Villages: The first phase is nearing completion with an expected move-in date in January. We look forward to welcoming new families and students.

Kunehi Street Stop Light: We anticipate the new stop light at the intersection of Kunehi Street and Kapolei Parkway will be installed and operational within the next month.

Playcourt Sidewalk & Future Playground: Construction will soon begin on a new sidewalk connecting the playcourt to the parking lot. This sidewalk is also the first phase in developing an additional playground for our students.

From our Librarian, Mrs. Ramey:

Hello Teachers,

An early reminder that your grade levels (4th and 5th) will have a virtual author visit, via Zoom, with Hawaii Nene Award Nominee: Jasmine Warga (A Robot's Story) on Tuesday, January 14 from 8:00-8:45. A Robot's Story is what our 4th and 5th grade Battle of the Books teams are reading for the Battle in March 2025. During this 40 minute event Jasmine will be discussing her books: A Rover's Story, A Strange Thing Happened in Cherry Hall, as well as her other books and her life and writing journey.

You will receive your Zoom link and additional information in January.

It was a great 2nd Quarter in the library! We had our busiest Scholastic Book Fair ever, students borrowed a lot of books, and we logged thousands of reading minutes in our Beanstack App. Battle of the Books teams are getting organized and Early Bird Library is a favorite place to hang out for many students in the morning. Plus, did you know we now have a Book Fairy in the library? Her name is Felicity, and students have found that if they leave her notes she will write them back. She even has her own book collection!

We also have *NEW* Book Bundles about to be introduced to Grades 3-5. Each box contains 3 hand-picked books around favorite topics. There are even some fun surprises inside for readers to keep.  Ms. Shota-Chang's class got to see the Book Bundles first, and they were really excited! :-)

Check out our favorite books this quarter below - there are some familiar titles and some new favorites! Congratulations to all, but especially to our top readers, classes of readers, and our pizza party drawing winner: Ms. Rufo's class. Yahoo!

See Ms. Ramey’s  email from 12/19/2024 for photos!
