Updates for Week of December 2, 2024

Hoping you all had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend filled with gratitude, safe traveling, and great shopping deals! Welcome to December!  We have just 3 weeks before our next break and they are loaded with activities.

Here is Gemini’s poem for you:

December's here, a month so bright,

With twinkling lights and winter's night.

Thanksgiving's past, a cozy cheer,

Now holiday fun is drawing near.

Three weeks ahead, a busy time,

With parents joining, a joyful chime.

Doors adorned, a festive scene,

And learning games, both fun and keen.

OG training, skills to grow,

And spirit week, a colorful show.

Let's make this month, a merry ride,

With joy and cheer, side by side.

Student Council Door Decorating Contest Starts NOW!

Please see details below!

(Updated-see  Laura's email for the attachments-Holidays Around the World)

Appreciations:

From Ashley Shinn:

Thank you Grade 5 for organizing today's Parent Involvement Activity! It was nice seeing teachers and students helping to facilitate the event and hearing all the "light bulb" moments around the cafeteria!

Highlights:

We had an 81% participation rate (increased from 69% last SY)!

100% of the returned survey responses were positive (62% return rate).

I also wanted to extend a huge THANK YOU to the many hands that helped today's activity run smoothly. Thank you to our Support Team for supporting students who didn't have family members this morning, helping to set up/clean up, and welcoming families to the event.

Kindergarten Appreciations:

Thank you so much for your support of Kindergarten’s gingerbread ornament fundraiser!

Thanks to our special “elves” who made all of the beautiful gingerbread ornaments with incredible care and attention to detail. They worked so hard before and after school to make sure each one was perfect. We love our gingerbread boys and girls, and we know they will be loved and cared for in your good hands.

Thank you again for your generosity!

From your friends in Kindergarten

P.S. Don't eat your gingerbread ornaments! They are cute, but definitely not delicious!

Appreciation for our Special Education Team:

We honor our incredible special education team – our dedicated teachers, empathetic EAs, and supportive staff. You work tirelessly, every single day, to advocate, educate, and support the inclusion of our special needs students.

Your commitment to providing a quality education and fostering a sense of belonging is truly inspiring. You go above and beyond to ensure that each student reaches their full potential.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication, compassion, and expertise. Your hard work makes a significant difference in the lives of our students.

Do YOU have an APPRECIATION, APOLOGY, AHA or Additional stuff that you would like shared in this blog?  Please contact VP Melinda Pamatigan should you wish to contribute, clarify or correct any information that is shared.  Posts are done on Sunday mornings, so let me know of information you would like to include by Saturday evening.  Corrections will be made to a posted blog as soon as I receive your notification.  THANK YOU!

Morning Broadcast:  Check out this week’s broadcast to learn more about Excellence (Ho‘omau) from VP Pamatigan (with AI help from Suno.com) and Mrs. Kellinoi’s 1st graders!

Starting December 2, you will see a new face in the office!   Please welcome Shaylee Limotac as our new office clerk.

Congratulations to Krystle Myers on completion of her counseling internship!  Krystle completed her requirements last week and we are fortunate to have her still on board as a sub teacher for the remainder of the year.  Her contact number is included in the email she shared last week.
