Updates for Week of November 4, 2024

Professional Development Day:  Monday, November 4th:  *Kapolei High School will host feeder elementary schools to showcase their academies. Check-in at the KHS Gymnasium from 8:00 to 8:15 AM. If driving, park in the Fort Barrette Road parking lot closest to the gym (highlighted in gold on this map). Parking may be limited due to multiple schools attending (BPES, HES, KHS, MES, MLES).   *To commemorate our 10th Anniversary, all staff are invited to participate in a staff photo at 1:00pm at the outdoor stage. Please wear your staff polo. Book Fair The Book Fair will be held in the library from November 12th to 19th. Tuesday, November 12th: Class previews Wednesday, November 13th - Monday, November 18th: After-school shopping for families Wednesday, November 13th - Tuesday, November 19th: Student shopping hours during first recess After-School Tutoring Session 1 of after-school tutoring will run from November 7th to December 12th on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM. Morning Broadcast:  Check out this week’s broadcast to learn more about Responsibility and Kōkua. Kōkua means helping others and being kind.  It’s about giving a hand when someone needs it and showing that you care.

Student Council Sponsored Gratitude Month Activities November 6-8, 2024 Gratitude Journal:  WHAT:  Get ready to fill your days with gratitude! We'll give you a fun prompt to write about each day. Share your thoughts and feelings and discover the power of being thankful!!  HOW:  Each student will receive a half sheet of paper with prompts to glue into their writing journals or onto another writing template.  Each day, have the students write about the prompt provided.  We encourage you to share out their messages during morning meetings or at the end of the day closing.
