KEEP GIVING!

Our Student Council is sponsoring a Canned Food Drive on November 15-22.  Canned goods will be donated to the Hawaii Food Bank. See flyer for additional information. 


Safety Week is approaching right after the Thanksgiving break.  The information shared at the Faculty Meeting on 11/16/2022 is linked HERE.  Information will also be sent home to families (email and hard copy) on Monday 11/21.

 

 

                                     SEL reminders- November 21, 2022

Aloha Teachers,


If you are following the recommended implementation schedule for Second STEP you should be on lesson 12 this week.


If you are not following the schedule, just a reminder that there are only 23 weeks left to complete the lessons. All grade levels (except Kinder) have 22 lessons. Please keep this in mind as you plan out the rest of your year.

Updates for Students: 

During this week of Thanksgiving, we wish you and your family a safe and joyful time together.  This is a perfect time to let your family and friends know how much you care about them.  We are most grateful for our Ho‘okele family and appreciate each and every one of you.  Keep up your amazing work in school-there will be just a few weeks left before the end of Quarter 2!  We are proud of you!


Safety Week is right AFTER THANKSGIVING BREAK:  Every year, all schools are required to conduct mandatory safety drills for fire, earthquake, lockdown, shelter in place and campus evacuations.  These drills help us to prepare you and our staff to respond appropriately in emergency situations.  


At Ho‘okele Elementary, we conduct monthly fire drills.  

To complete the remaining required drills, we will be implementing the following:


Monday, 11/28/2022:  Lockdown and Shelter in Place drills 

Tuesday, 11/29/2022:  Earthquake Drill 

Wednesday, 11/30/2022:  Monthly Fire drill and our annual Campus Evacuation to Mehana Park


Your teachers will be reviewing procedures and purpose with you.  You do not need to do anything else to prepare for drills.  Additional information will be sent home to your families on Monday 11/21.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
