Updates for Week of August 22, 2022
Happy New Week!
Resource classes for grades K, 1 and 5 start this week! Linked is a brochure
that was shared with students about the resource day classes. If you are a non-classroom teacher or have a sub in the grade that has resources, please assist with transitions for the lower grades if you are able to. (Kindergarten on Tuesday and Grade 1 on Thursday). We are working on reviewing the procedures and schedules to adjust for any gaps that we have observed during these first 2 weeks. We appreciate your feedback and support!
Please take a close look at your combo classes to make sure that the mix of students is appropriate for a mixed class. Students should be able to easily get along well with others and should not have any flags for behaviors.
4th and 5th grade teachers, please remind students that Robotics Applications for 4th and 5th graders are due Monday, August 29th. Applications include the Application Form and an essay. Please turn in applications to Ms. Barilla in B102 or the office during your free time. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Barilla.
Tuesday Tours:
In the spirit of Uniting with our community this school year, we will be offering opportunities for our current families to tour our school. Many of our families have never had the opportunity to tour our facilities and get to see our beautiful school. We thought that offering campus tours might help Connect and Engage our families. The tours will take place on Tuesdays after school and will be conducted by teacher and student volunteers.
The tours will be showcasing our common areas- cafe, library, piko, playground, and learning hub. We would also like to showcase a classroom from an upper and a lower grade. We are reaching out to you to see if there are any teachers in your grade level that would be willing to allow the Tuesday Tour groups to see what one of our classrooms looks like.
The teacher is not responsible for participating in the tour, only to allow us to briefly visit (5 minutes) the room to see what a Hookele classroom looks like. The tour time is from 2:45- 3:30, so the classroom tour stop will be sometime during that time period. Teachers do NOT have to participate in the tour every week, but can volunteer for a date or dates they would like to have their classroom showcased.
The dates of the Tuesday Tours are:
August 23, 30
September 6,13,20,27
October 11,18
If you are interested in having your room showcased or volunteering to be a tour guide, please complete this form.
