Parent / Teacher Survey - If you have not done so already, please share this survey with parents to receive their feedback on our P/T conferences. 

Additionally Approved Acceptable Tests for COVID-19 Weekly Attestations - Please see the attached memo regarding additional approved acceptable Testo for COVID-19 Weekly Attestations. As a reminder, employees who choose to test weekly are responsible for all incurred costs. Employees should submit the results of the AZOVA and/or Vault tests along with the weekly attestation form according to the established departmental procedure.

Weekly COVID-19 Testing Update - We will continue to provide our weekly testing for staff every Monday and Thursday from 7:00a.m. to 8:00a.m. However, the week of November 8 and November 22 testing will be conducted on Wednesdays rather than Thursdays to account for the holidays. 

Mobile Vaccine Appointment for ages 5-11 - As we are still finalizing our plans for the clinic on campus please feel free to visit http://HawaiiPacificHealth.org/COVIDVaxSquad for additional opportunities. 

Please review the slides for SAFETY WEEK  and prepare your students for these drills starting on Monday.  There are specific instructions for lockdown responsibilities that have been updated-please check to see if you are responsible for locking outside building doors.

As a reminder, we are NOT evacuating campus on Wednesday, we will do a full school fire drill and then have you review what an evacuation would look like using the map on page 14 of the slides in your classrooms.  

Copies of this incredible easy reference sheet designed by Jill will be placed in your boxes.  Please post in your classrooms next to your evacuation maps.

Picture Retakes are on Tuesday!   See schedule below.  Please note:  We will check off PreK and K as soon as possible from earthquake drill so you can send students to picture retakes.

Updates for Students 

Aloha Students!


Every year, all schools are required to conduct mandatory safety drills for fire, earthquake, lockdown, shelter in place and campus evacuations.  These drills help us to prepare our students and staff to respond appropriately in emergency situations.  All students will be participating in these drills with COVID mitigating measures in place.


At Ho‘okele Elementary, we conduct monthly fire drills.  

To complete the remaining required drills, we will be implementing the following:


Monday, 11/8/2021Lockdown and Shelter in Place drills 

Tuesday, 11/9/2021Earthquake Drill 

Wednesday, 11/10/2021:  Monthly Fire drill and our annual Campus Evacuation TRAINING


Your teachers will be reviewing procedures and purpose with you.  You do not need to do anything else to prepare for drills, however, we ask that you understand the  importance of practicing these drills in the event of actual emergencies.


Our campus evacuation drill on Wednesday 11/10 will be ONLY conducted via training in the classroom and students will NOT be evacuating campus for this drill.   You will learn the route which would be taken to our evacuation site at Mehana Neighborhood Park in the event of an actual emergency.

Students in Grades 2-5 interested in our School Musical Auditions,

We are now accepting registration for Auditions for our school musical, Winnie the Pooh Kids.  Registration is required and must be completed by Friday, November 19, 2021, at 4:00 pm.  Late registrations may not be accepted. 

Audition packets were passed out on Friday, November 5, 2021. If you would like to audition and did not receive a packet, please see Mrs. Brown in Room B101.  Questions and inquiries may be emailed to Mrs. Brown at Laura_Brown@hookele.k12.hi.us.
