Updates for Week of May 10, 2021
Happy Mother’s Day! We all wear many hats and most likely your favorite hat is that of a mother. We appreciate all you do for your children at home and for your Ho‘okele children!
Welcome to Crista Bautzmann, our new MFLC counselor. Her office will be in the PCNC room in the office. If you have any students of military families that could use assistance, please reach out to Crista.
Please help to be proactive in reminding parents and students that our policy this year is as follows:
Special Occasions
For health and safety reasons, no outside treats or goody bags will be accepted or distributed to students.
This is in our reopening handbook found on our website. It would be best to remind parents of this now as we get close to the end of the year and some may be thinking about end of the year goody bags. It is much easier to be proactive than to have the child be sent home with the items. This applies to any type of goody bag-food or non-food- for this school year.
Enjoy your week! As we get close to wrapping things up, let us know what help you need!

Aloha Students!
We have just 3 more MONDAYS!!
Don’t forget Sunday is Mother’s Day! Please wish your Mom (and Grandmas and Aunties) a very Happy Mother’s Day. We appreciate how they have raised such amazing children in our Ho‘okele community!
A few reminders this week-please remember to wear a mask to school and while on the bus. We’ve noticed more students forgetting lately. Don’t worry-we will be sure to get you a mask if you forget, but you may find your own is more comfortable and a better fit than what we have. Thank you for wearing a mask to help keep you and others safe.
Don’t forget to pack a bag to bring home your lunch. We notice many of you struggling with carrying the bags and containers for meals and even leaving them behind. We want to make sure you get all of the food that our cafeteria has prepared for you!
We have also received complaints from the neighbors about Ho‘okele lunches being left all over our community, in the bushes, at the bus stops, on electrical boxes, on the ground, etc. If you do not want to take a meal, you do not have to. Please help care for our community and report any students to the office that you see leaving behind rubbish.
SBA continues this week with math content. Stay focused-don’t rush and check your answers several times before you submit. We know you will do your best.
Are you the child of a military family? We have a new MFLC counselor on our campus whom you may have noticed. Please welcome Ms. Crista Bautzmann who will be at our school to assist any military students in need. Let your teacher or counselor know if you would like to meet with Ms. Bautzmann!
Congratulations to our 5th Grade math invitational winners! We are very proud of you-way to represent Ho‘okele!
We know you are all very generous and like to share celebrations with your class. However, please be aware of our policy for this school year in terms of bringing goody bags or snacks. This is found in our Parent Handbook available on our website. Especially as we get close to the end of the school, please save your celebration items for giving out to friends at home. Thank you for your understanding.
