As we enter this FINAL week of the school year...a BIG MAHALO to all of our faculty and staff for making this year happen.  We have grown and learned so much together and it is with extreme gratitude that we wind up this crazy school year with all of you.

 

We have 13 staff members leaving us after this school year due to moves, new opportunities and retirements.  We have been truly fortunate to have worked with each and every one of you.  Best wishes to those who will be leaving our Ho‘okele Family, we will miss you!  Please join us right after Monday’s faculty meeting for a small treat and to say farewell to those leaving.  We will be serving treats outside in the piko area, between the cafe and admin buildings.  We want each and everyone of you to know that you have helped shape who we are as a school community and we would not be Ho‘okele without you!

 

End of Year responsibilities and Reminders:

  • May 26th: All students, all staff wear Song Fest shirts to school

  • May 26th: All teachers will be given access to the entire Song Fest video.  Teachers will be asked to download to desktop and play the entire performance for their class.  Program is going to be about 45 minutes long. 

 

Reminder from Regina:

Please send home  i-Ready logins with the report cards or supplies and encourage your students to continue working on their personalized lessons until July 16th.  Also, don't forget to download any reports you would like to save before the Rollover on July 16th.  Finally, see links below for new summer resources available.

Information for Students (Updates shared via Seesaw for this week)

THANK YOU Students and Families for your ongoing support, patience and flexibility during this school year!  We started the year in distance learning mode and ended up with the majority of students in person for the 4th quarter.  It has been a pleasure watching you all grow and learn how to be completely efficient with using technology to support your learning.  The skills you have learned will surely shape the future of your education and we look forward to nurturing you along the way!

We are already making plans for our school year next year.  Announcements will be shared with all of you as updates are finalized and available.  Be ready for another exciting year of learning headed your way!

Good luck to our 5th grade students moving on to Middle Schools.  You were our first group of Kindergarteners back in SY 2015-2016 and OH MY!  How you have all GROWN!  We are so proud of the people you have become and are honored in having you represent our school as soon-to-be-former Ho‘okele students.  Thank you for letting us teach you and get to know you.

We look forward to SongFest this week.  Wear your grade level SongFest shirt on Wednesday!

One reminder for this last week of school...Sadly, we are still receiving complaints about Ho‘okele students leaving behind your rubbish from lunches in the communities.  Last week it was reported that students are leaving rubbish at the bus stops as well.  Please remember to take care of our entire school community-this is where we live and where we learn.  It belongs to all of us, so do your part to take care of it!

Meal Updates:  Menu change 5/28 to Cheese Pizza.

Reminder: On 5/28 we will only be serving Lunch - No Breakfast at the Grab and Go sites.

This Wednesday marks Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to sincerely recognize and thank our exceptional office staff. Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school. From cheerfully greeting families – both the friendly and the more challenging – to ensuring the smooth execution of every event, our office team is truly the backbone of our school. They arrive early, stay late, manage our supplies, process our paychecks and scan our lunches, and, above all, always help to ensure the well-being of our students. Thank you for all that you do!
