Updates for Week of March 4, 2019
Information for Faculty and Staff
Congratulations to our WASC coordinator, Michelle Uyeno, for her dedication to an amazingly successful WASC visitation process. She has truly earned her title of our Hihimanu Hero of the month! Thank you Michelle!
The WASC visitation was successful because of EVERY SINGLE FACULTY AND STAFF member being involved in the process. Our parents and students were incredibly supportive of our efforts and this shined through to the visiting committee. We are truly humbled and proud of your hard work and dedication to completing this process with sincerity and integrity. THANK YOU!
Please join us during Wednesday’s Faculty Forum to help celebrate the success of our visit!

Information for Students
Great job impressing our WASC committee! They had wonderful compliments for all of our students, especially those who sat in on the interviews. The have confirmed what we already know: that Ho‘okele has great students and we are all on the right track for success!
Congratulations to our students who will be performing in our school musical this week and weekend! We cannot wait to see your “Alice in Wonderland” performance! For the audience-please remember to follow our behavior expectations during the performances.
It’s Career Week! We hope you enjoy this week’s focus on your future career possibilities! Be respectful to your presenters!
Our students who ride the bus were given reminders on behaviors to share with parents. If you have not done so, please return your signed green paper to your teacher. Teachers will give the forms to the office.
As a reminder for all students, here is our cell phone policy:
Cell Phone Policy
We recognize that cell phones have become a common tool for communication. However, they have also become a major distraction to the learning environment and are vulnerable to theft. We ask that you allow your child to carry a cell phone only if absolutely necessary. A child who brings a cell phone to school is responsible for their own property.
Students are allowed to carry cell phones to school. However, phones must be turned off and stored out of sight during school hours. Phones may not be used to talk, take pictures, play games, record or text while on school campus, including before school, after school, on the bus and at recesses.
Students who do not follow this policy will be asked to put their cell phones away. A student who refuses to put away their phone or continues to use the phone inappropriately or at inappropriate times may be referred to the office for insubordination.
