Updates for Week of November 26, 2018
Information for Faculty and Staff
We Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend! Welcome Back!
Congratulations to our November/December Hihimanu of the month-Ms. Liane Tanigawa! Thanks Liane for all you do for your colleagues!!
Thank you for preparing your students for their outstanding participation in our school Safety Week. We will be reviewing and sharing feedback with you and also sharing feedback to parents from the PTA sign waving to help ensure and encourage safety practices at our school. Overall-the drills went well and showed our readiness for emergencies. They also helped us identify what areas we may need to consider for future drills and preparation.
REMINDERS:
In order to ensure important messages to staff and students are being shared through this blog, I am creating a form that can be submitted for any announcements you would like to add. Generally, most information is taken from the master calendar and emails; however, sometimes events and activities may be missed. Have something to share?? Submit HERE!
Fire Inspection is on WEDNESDAY. Important Fire Safety Reminders:
Evacuation Maps should be posted near the exit. If your classroom or office is missing a map or if you need a different orientation, notify admin.
Exits and Doors should not be obstructed.
Pull Stations and Fire extinguishers need to have a 3 foot clearance and must not be obstructed.
Extension Cords are not to be used as permanent wiring. Multiplugs are not approved or allowed. No Piggy backing (power strip to power strip/power strip to extension cord) is allowed.
You need at least an 18” clearance to the ceiling. No Storage should be closer than 18” to ceiling.
All Appliances must be plugged directly to an outlet and not to an extension cord.
Banners and Hanging items should be non flammable and do not block views of exits.
All rooms should be free of clutter!!
Please note that we have our first IPDP sharing next week on 11/28. Be prepared to present information on your classroom management plan adjustments you have made and results you have seen. More information on format will be coming out shortly.

Information for Students
Be responsible with any money you bring to school.
Congratulations to Ms. Barilla’s class who will earn 5 extra recess minutes for earning Gotcha tickets for mutual respect, safety first and outstanding student actions!
Firemen will be on campus this week Wednesday! They are here to do our annual fire inspection. Please show them how awesome our students are by being polite and respectful. They do not want to disrupt your learning, so if they do come to your class, please focus on your teacher and not what they are doing.
Great job last week with Safety Week drills last week! We noticed that you showed good behavior and followed directions of your teachers and staff. Thank you!
