Information for Students
Recently some students have been engaging in “roasts” or rap battles that include disrespectful comments to peers. Although these activities may seem light hearted and not meant to upset others, in fact the messages can be seen as teasing and therefore we are asking that students stop any activity where you are showing disrespect to a peer. Our Tribes agreements ask for mutual respect-ask yourself if you are being kind and respectful when you say these things to your classmates. If not-do not do it or say it while in school.
CONGRATS to Ms. Spencer's class for having the most gotcha tickets and earning extra recess! Great job!

Students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes on October 31, 2018.
However, all costumes must follow these guidelines.
1. No wrestling-type, gang-influenced or violent-type attire.
2. Masks may not be worn.
3. No violent objects or weapons.
4. No scary costumes or scary makeup, i.e. ghosts, vampires, fake blood or stitches, etc. (Remember: We have young children on campus.)
5. Costume clothing must still be within school dress code guidelines. No short shorts, short skirts, baggy clothes, gang attire, high heels, platform shoes, bare midriffs, etc.
6. No costume should interfere with or distract students from academic learning.
Consequences
-Change out of costume and wear extra clothing brought to school
-If no extra change of clothes, then parents are called to bring
school clothes or student must wear clothes from administration
HALLOWEEN TREATS
Please follow wellness guidelines for any treats brought to school. All snacks brought to share should be individually wrapped for distribution at the end of the school day. We ask the same for after Halloween, lease only bring healthy snacks to school. Please no peanuts!
Please use extreme safety precautions if you will be trick or treating for Halloween! Wear reflective clothing or accessories so you can be seen and be safe! You are all invited to the school on Wednesday night for Rise Church Harvest Night from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Walk Safely
*Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.*Look left, right and left again when crossing and keep looking as you cross.
*Put electronic devices down and keep heads up and walk, don’t run, across the street.
*Make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them.
*Always walk on sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic as far to the left as possible. Children should walk on direct routes with the fewest street crossings.
*Watch for cars that are turning or backing up. Never dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
