Updates for Week of February 22, 2016

This week Monday, please park in the back parking lot to provide space for the district training being held in Lawai’a PD center.  We are also asking for your assistance to park in the back lots Thursday and Friday for the OG trainings.  Parking may be especially limited on Friday with the 4th grade parent activity on campus as well, but we will ask the OG training participants to use street parking.
As a reminder, on Monday Administration, Support Team and grade 3 teachers will be off campus from the morning until 11:00 am.  Mr. Hartwell Lee Loy, the VP from Kapolei High will be on campus to assist as needed.  Thank you Mr. Lee Loy!
Thank you for turning in your gotcha tickets.  Please keep awarding them and turning them in.  Currently with the targeted focus on behaviors for resource days and cafeteria I have not been recognizing the gotchas. However, I do plan on doing some “mass celebrations” and drawings before the end of the quarter.  I appreciate your support of this program and the behavior monitoring points!!  I look forward to it all coming together as we see students recognizing the connection and expectations of their behaviors across all settings.

Student Announcements (Please read to your students)
Hi Students,
Have you noticed our CPOs?  Our campus patrol officers are now on duty-wearing the orange safety vests and helmets to assist you in the morning and after school.  10 5th grade students were recommended by their teachers to participate.  This is a great honor for students to serve their school on this campus safety patrol. The CPOs report to the Vice Principal and will be letting me know about your good behavior (which classes deserve gotchas) and also any students or classes that may need some reminders.  You are expected to follow the guidance of the CPOs when they give you any safety reminders.  
There are 2 CPO Teams:  The Hawks-Blaine, Denika, Jezzarae, Kiana and Kalei and the Crazy Llamas-Ku’u, Tommy, Sebastian, Rylee and Chayne. Congratulations to these students-Be sure to show your mutual respect and appreciation to these students for helping you be safe!
Team 1 (Hawks) is on duty this week.
Please remember to have your bus pass at all times in the morning and after school.  If you lose your bus pass, you must get a replacement!
Congratulations to the following classes for having the highest average points in this week’s behavior challenge!  Points this week were calculated for cafeteria and some of your resource classes.

Their dedication and support extend far beyond the expected, touching every corner of our school.
