Updates for Week of September 7, 2015

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for a great fire drill last week.  We will be making some adjustments to the all clear process by labeling your folders with numbers.  Once our playground area is clear, we will also send you a new line up for evacuations.  We believe the issue with the fire bell going off is resolved, so continue to respond appropriately when you hear an alarm.

We appreciate your participation in last week’s faculty activities.  We know you all work hard and it is so important to keep a good balance in your lives.  Thank you for having fun and thank you to the support team for planning the afternoon!

Parent Teacher Conference information will be coming out this week.  Please note the timelines and instructions for teachers.  We have adjusted the conference dates to start on Wednesday 10/21 and end on 10/31.

Our resource classes are well under way.  Our upper grade PE (Brandon Chesebro) and Art (Noelle Garcia) teachers were able to start last week.  We have hired Nettie Armitage-Lapilio for our Hawaiian Studies teacher and are just awaiting her start date.  We do have coverage planned so you can participate in your PLCs as scheduled.  Please let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions for our PTTs.  I meet with them every Thursday morning.

RTI programs begin this week!  Thank you for your support of all students. Please remember to send your students to their designated RTI rooms a few minutes before your scheduled intervention block.

Picture Taking is on Thursday.  Please bring your students to the cafeteria at your scheduled time.  Both cameras will be on the stage.  Students do not need to wear uniforms, however, for K and 5, please remind them about having PE for resource.  The PE teachers will modify activities as necessary.  Teachers, please take pictures with your class.  All other staff, you may take pictures before school from 7:45 and after 11:15-12:00 pm.

Thank you to the Rotary Club who will be donating dictionaries to our 3rd graders this week.

If you have CPR certification, please let Shari VIllaruz know.

Please notify Mike if you see any water damage or leaking.
