Updates Week of June 15

Hi Everyone,

I hope you’re finding time to enjoy your break.  I have a few updates for you.

On Monday, June 15, the Haku building and the North Parking Lot will be turned over to us.  We will begin moving our temporary office to the actual office at Ho‘okele Elementary School.  If the telephone lines are ready, Dollinda will begin assisting parents in our office on Thursday, June 18.

Please update your records as our school main office number will be 808-305-8500.  Our phones in the Haku Building should be operational by Thursday, June 18.  A phone extension list will be shared with you at a later time.

We have hired a Vice Principal, although it isn’t yet official.  Official start date is July 6th.  Once all paperwork is settled, an announcement will be made to let you know who our VP will be.

You may park in the North parking lot.  It will not be striped until a later date. DO NOT go beyond the Haku and Mahi‘ai Buildings.  If you don’t, you do not have to wear any PPE.

June 23 is the projected turnover date for the Mea‘ohi Building.  I will send out another update prior to then to keep those housed in this building as to when they may begin moving.  Don’t plan on moving in on June 23, until we get confirmation.

All Purchase Orders are due to Dollinda by June 15th.

Computers are being imaged (without Lotus Notes, printer access etc).  We are prioritizing Project Lead the Way participants and staff that begin July 1st as priority.  Kasey Harimoto (UST) will be contacting you when your laptop is available for pick up.  If you already filled out this survey, please disregard.  If not, please complete this as it will provide us with your contact info as to the best way to notify you that your computer is ready.  Should you NOT take this survey, you may not be notified in a timely manner.  Please note that even though you receive your laptop, it isn’t 100% complete.  We have yet to receive any Lotus Notes IDs and also need to setup Xerox machines printing access once they are delivered, we will slowly add these things on for you. We kindly ask for your patience.

Another positive change for Technology is that we will be using gmail as the primary source of communication on a daily basis.  We will be setting up your Lotus Notes to forward to your gmail accounts.  This will be done at a later date (after we recieve your lotus note ID files.  All teachers will be required to check gmail on a daily basis and use this as the source of communication--NOT Lotus Notes.  The following items will be shared with you in Google Classroom in the near future:
  • Policies
  • Tutorials how to use Gmail
  • Contacts and Mailing Groups

Please contact me if you need any help with any of the following:
  • Weebly Classroom Website (must be up by the 1st day of school)
  • Google Drive, Calendar, Mail
  • Google Classroom

Jill
