The Governor announced that Furloughs will not begin in January. Therefore all salaried employees will be working on January 4 (the day between semesters).

It’s Winter Break!
Have a wonderful and restful winter break! Thank you for all of the tasty treats and thoughtful gifts, but mostly thank you for being a part of our ohana and making this such a special place to work. Take care of yourselves and your families this vacation and find joy in whatever you do.
Congratulations to Dollinda Sato, our amazing SASA who helped open this school in 2015. Dollinda is RETIRING this month! We are so grateful for her years of service, her support and her dedication to our Ho‘okele family. THANK YOU, DOLLINDA!
Cindy will continue to TA as our SASA until the position is officially filled.
We have a few additions to our staff who started recently as well. In case you missed the earlier announcements, Deanna Gomez is officially hired as our preschool special education teacher. She has been subbing in special education this school year and we happily welcome her to be an official part of the faculty!
The EA for the preschool classroom, Chelsea Richards started in Quarter 2. She will be on maternity leave starting in January and we wish her and baby the best. We have also hired Lorna Kekahuna, our new EA for the medically fragile classroom who will be a great addition to a great team!
While we are awaiting an official clearance for our new School Food Services Manager to start, we would like to thank Dean Poscalbo for serving as the TA Manager since last school year. We appreciate him running the cafe efficiently, especially while serving the community with our grab and go meals throughout the pandemic!
Also recently hired in the cafeteria is Ericson Zaparita, already a familiar face to us having worked with the cafeteria and custodial staff. A new hire is awaiting clearance for a 2nd cafe helper position, which we will announce once official.
As a reminder, STAFF pictures for yearbook may be scheduled by appointment at Pearlridge Expressions Studio through December 30. Call 951-7827, press 1 for Pearlridge to schedule an appointment-you may want to avoid Dec. 21, 22 and 29 to allow more space for our students who are scheduling. Staff can schedule any day until Dec. 30. Appointment information was emailed to students last week.
The new date for report cards is 1/13/2021.
The office is closed for holidays on 12/25/2020 and 1/1/2021 and for the furlough day on 1/4/2021.
