We will be finalizing plans for more of our vulnerable students to return to campus next week, starting 10/19. Thank you to the SPED and inclusion Gen Ed teachers for your help in planning for this next phase. We will be sharing any updates or changes to our plans this week. Updates will also be provided to EAs, cafe, custodians and office to help with the safe return of more students on campus. We will be welcoming back our adult supervisors too, so expect to see a few more faces on campus starting next week.
In case you missed the announcement-Congratulations to our Hihimanu Hero of the Month for September-Mr. Michael Bio! Your hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed by your colleagues. Thank you for everything that you do-working tirelessly from the time school opens until the time school closes to help keep our school clean and safe.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up next week! An email was sent to parents with the information letter on October 3rd. Information on conferences is linked here and was emailed to teachers by Laura Brown on October 1st. Let us know if you need any assistance with conference scheduling. The report card window will remain open until the end of conferences on 10/30/2020.
Main Points:
Conferences are Wednesday, October, 21 - Friday, October 30
Students are dismissed at 1:05 p.m. on October 21-23 and October 27-30. There will be no change on Monday dismissal time (12:50 p.m.) on October 26.
Conferences are 20 minutes long, with 5 minutes between conferences.
The first conference starts at 1:15 pm and the last conference ends at 2:50 pm each day. However, you may schedule conferences after 2:50 pm, if you want.
We are using MyConferenceTime for conference sign-ups. To log in to your account, please go to https://www.myconferencetime.com/hookele. Then, click on “Staff Log In.” Your Login is your Ho’okele Gmail and your password is hihimanu.
A conference schedule has already been set-up for you, but you can edit the schedule to your availability. However, please do not deviate too much from the conference schedule set-up by the school. Parents may start signing up for conferences beginning October 2, 2020 afternoon. So, check your schedule as soon as possible.
The second page of the packet is the letter to the parents.

Welcome Back! We look forward to seeing you online starting Monday 10/12 for our continued Distance Learning for Quarter 2! We hope you had a fun time off-line to enjoy with your family. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you as you reconnect with your virtual classrooms.
Thank you to those of you who took pictures over break at the Expressions Studio for yearbook. If you were not able to go, don’t worry, we will have another opportunity coming up soon and will share that information with your family.
Don’t Forget-You have resource classes this Monday-Hawaiian Studies, Music/Dance, PE and Library activities will be shared with you through Seesaw.
Also, as a reminder, our new meal program starts Monday, too! Information was sent to our families prior to Fall Break. Please note: Because of this new program, meal distribution will be at LUNCH TIME only, starting Monday 10/12/2020. Ho‘okele Elementary will be serving Grab and Go Meals at 11:30-11:50 am ONLY.
